Great news: Superman to renounce his U.S. citizenship

The bad news: He’s supposed to be an immortal symbol of truth, justice, and the American way. Or at least he was before that line got written out of the script in order not to offend foreign audiences. The good news: Isn’t he … an illegal alien? Since when did we start admitting people from Krypton, anyway? Ah well. More work available now for American patriots like Batman and Spider-Man.

I’m actually not sure what to make of this:

Goyer’s installment, with tense art from Miguel Sepulveda, steals the spotlight in Action Comics No. 900. When Superman drops in on an Iranian protest to stand with demonstrators in an act of nonviolent civil disobedience, the U.S. government takes him to task for acting as an instrument of national policy. Superman responds by renouncing his American citizenship and proclaiming himself a citizen of the universe…

Superjerk can shove it where the sun don`t shine. And what a racist he is for not kow-towing to The One.

How about when the original SNL cast did a skit called “Ubermann”, where the baby Kal-El landed in Nazi Germany instead of America? Hilarious.

I remember as a kid seeing animated cartoons of Superman. The not-so-good animations where he’s usually battling the cruel insidious Japs.

Howcum..... Superman didn’t just.... wipe out the entire Luftwaffe....sink every ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy....destroy every one of Hitler’s panzers....you get the idea.

Comic books belong to another time, I guess.

Sadly, no. The liberals control entertainment media, and being pro-American is not welcomed, I guess. I believe even the Captain America movie that is forthcoming is going to come across like “Yeah, my name’s Captain America, but that’s just a name. I’m really a citizen of the world.” If so, I hope it tanks.

But he's not a natural born citizen, so he's not eligible to be President...

Not automatically. They would still have to apply for naturalization. But, in 1938, who’s to say the couple didn’t find an abandoned AMERICAN waif?....................

>>And publishers wonder why comics struggle to sell 30,000 copies a month nationwide.

Not only that...the scans are already available to download on pdf form FOR FREE. I haven’t bought one single comic because I won’t fork over my money to these libtards and haven’t done so in 4 years. I just read them on my pc and Ipad on the train.

Obviously, Superman is racist! A black man becomes president and Clark Kent leaves the country! Great Caesar's Ghost!

So?! He’s an illegal Alien anyway. /s

Though a special grant of waiver should be considered. I mean, how the heck would we deport him back to Krypton?

It blew up into billions and billions of little pieces and no longer exists.

There is no government to negotiate his repatriation.

Besides, Superman is more American than a good many Americans and MuBarak Obama.

That's the point at which kryptonite becomes a good thing.

“Krypton” no longer exists, remember?

There is no land to repatriate him to.

There is no government to claim him as a citizen son.

Besides, Superman is more American than many Americans and we would have to grant a waiver since there is no way, even if Krypton still existed, to reach the planet.

If it still existed is technologically out of our reach.

“Truth, Justice and The American Way!”

Don’t forget Superman would also be protected under the “Endangered Species Act.” After all, he’s one of the few survivors from the planet Krypton, along with those held in the dimensional prison whose name I can’t recall right now.

Jimmy Olsen’s Blues - The Spin Doctors

I don’t think I can handle this
A cloudy day in metropolis
Well I think I’ll talk to my analyst
I got it so bad for this little journalist

Drive me up the wall and through the roof
Lois and Clark in a telephone booth
I think I’m going out of my brain
I got it so bad for little Miss Lois Lane

Lois Lane please put me in your plan
Yeah, Lois Lane you don’t need no super man
Come on downtown and stay with me tonight
I got a pocket full of Kryptonite
I got a pocket full of Kryptonite
I got a pocket full of Kryptonite

He’s leaping buildings in a single bound
And I’m reading Shakespeare at my place downtown
Come on downtown and make love to me
I’m Jimmy Olsen not a titan, you see

He’s faster than a bullet, stronger than a train
He’s the one who got lucky got his cape around Miss. Lois Lane
I can’t believe my dilemma is real
I’m competing with the man of steel

Lois Lane please put me in your plan
Yeah, Lois Lane you don’t need no super man
Come on downtown and stay with me tonight
I got a pocket full of Kryptonite
I got a pocket full of Kryptonite
I got a pocket full of Kryptonite
Oh Miss Lois Lane, got a pocket full of

"Not-so-good"? The Fleischer Superman cartoons had gorgeous animation.

This was actually addressed in the 1970's. Hitler acquired the Spear of Destiny (the lance that pierced Jesus' side as he hung on the cross), and was able to use it to cast a spell that would bring anyone with superpowers under his control, if they crossed into Axis-controlled territory...thus explaining why all the characters with superpowers such as Superman, Wonder Woman, and Dr. Fate never won the war by themselves...and still allowing the non-super characters such as the Blackhawks to have their adventures in Europe.

Yeah...I'm a comic book geek :-)

The Phantom Zone. There's also his cousin Supergirl and his pet dog Krypto.

Maybe so. Right colors. And considering the Browns’ moderate success in the mid-eighties I should have added with my “three legged dog” comment: “Sorry, Bernie. No sausage, no props”
