Why would NBC necessarily know whether Trump is running for President? And even if they did, it's probably subject to a non-disclosure agreement.

NBC has no duty to tell anyone anything, and they might have a contractual obligation not to talk about any plans Donald Trump might have disclosed to them. O'Donnell is just blowing hot air.
