>> I think she most likely viewed herself as being immune.

It’s called being disconnected from the realities that exist outside of the West. That said, I’m glad she and her crew made it home alive. Regardless of the MSM’s outrageous bias, they were serving their profession and should not be maligned for anything other being ignorant — they’re Americans. The flash mob that attacked her should have been lined up and executed.

I did not malign her in any way.

I just think it was idiotic for them, or anyone, to be so close to the mob in the first place. A mob that size and so energized can be a very unpredictable thing.

Could be she wanted to get a bird's eye view of the story, or maybe even be a part of the story. But I still believe she saw herself as being immune to real danger.

Might be similar to the Daniel Pearl situation. Do you think that Daniel thought it very likely that he was going to be beheaded? I think not, I'm sure he felt some degree of danger but nothing close to what happened. I think some reporters believe that since they see themselves as neutral or often even sympathetic to the Muslims, that they also believe the Radical Muslims will view them that as well and will do them no harm.
