Advantage Obama [No Joke : The American Spectator declares Barry the winner]
The American Spectator ^ | April 28, 2011 | Andrew Cline

Posted on 04/28/2011 9:31:53 PM PDT by RobinMasters

President Obama has been pestered by the birther issue since the 2008 Democratic primary. Why would he wait until yesterday to release his long-form birth certificate and put the issue to rest? Because until now it didn't make political sense to do so.

Until this spring, birtherism was a political plus for Obama. Let's face it, screaming for the president's birth certificate -- when there is no evidence he was born outside the country -- doesn't make someone look like the type of person you'd want to hire to walk your dog, much less run the country. By ignoring the question and sometimes laughing it away, Obama came off as cool and reasonable by contrast. His passivity itself was enough to portray birthers as fringe kooks who should not be taken seriously.

In July of 2009, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs called the conspiracy theory "made-up, fictional nonsense." Then the big dismissal: "I almost hate to indulge in such an august setting as the White House."

Less than two years later, the president thought the issue was important enough to indulge not only in the White House, but personally. It wasn't the press secretary speaking from the podium yesterday, it was the president himself.

Forget facts and logical argumentation. To get a ‘rat on your side, one must appeal to emotions.

If you look at Boner and the rest of the GOP leadership, I’m not suprised.

Anyone who would believe their life on the VALIDITY of this “presentation” after the history that has gone before it, is a fool. There are many people that are easily fooled. They put Obama in the White House and we got exactly what we told those people America would get, and worse.

I don’t see where the writer cites that Obummer was forced into this move by a “fringe” GOP candidate who has pushed his polls into the toilet. An act of desperation is not a win in my book. I am sure that the WH wanted to let this fester until next year but now they are going to be forced to answer other things they have no magic piece of paper for. Oil prices, unemployment and an economy in free fall.

If there were any political hay to make of it to 0bama’s advantage he has completely wasted it by doing this now and not in Sep. or Oct. ‘12. By then this will be forgotten or will have turned against him. It can’t improve from now until then and will last about a week at this time with more pressing issues at hand. If he has gained anything at all by appearing to be playing games with the American people.

Balderdash, Trump is getting to Obama, that's the Spectators position.

Advantage Obama, for now. But something tells me Trump isn't going to stop asking for those school transcripts anytime soon.

As one who worked with Jerry Corsi on “Unfit for Command”, I think this article raises a lot of good points that should be read with an open mind.

Trump, and Corsi, and others, had been chipping away at Obama’s credibility re the birth certificate issue. However, they were also attacking Obama’s general lack of “transparency”, lack of a written record, lack of almost anything you would find in someone’s lift if they had lived it like Obama had.

This pointed attack on Obama’s very character or lack thereof, was beginning to chip away at his invincibility as “the leader”, and this was a potentially political killing point for his reelection chances.

People who had not believed in the “birth” issue were just asking, “why doesn’t he produce the certificate and end the issue, unless he has something to hide.” That is political poison to one who has made his political career out of lying and coverups.

Obama had to act, and he did.

What he has not explained, besides all his missing life papers, is who he had as political friends, advisors, and financial supporters in his Chicago political career, and then in his rise to national prominence, based on a political life of nothing.

Some of it can be found in the work of Trevor Loudon and his websites, Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media & USA Survival, Inc., and others who have been digging like archaeologists into Obama’s background and associates.

There is a lot down there that needs to be found and interpreted, and once it is, you will understand that Obama used the “birth certificate issue” as a “red herring” to divert attention and resources away from finding the real “red” herring, i.e. the story of his political life.

When we sank John Kerry, it was often with his own records and words, as well as through a lot of digging into records most people didn’t even know existed.

However, Obama is a hundred times more devious than Kerry ever was, and his coverup aides are real pros, not the hate-filled,lying, and vitriolic clowns of the mini-ego from Massachusetts.

This makes Obama much more dangerous, but much more professional in covering up the “real” him.

“Seek and ye shall find”.

They can call us birthers “red neck trailer trash” all they want.
They will have to do a lot more to convince me that Obambie is eligible to be POTUS.
The pompous ass elitist on our side think it is kooky, stupid, and unsophisticated to question Obama’s legitimacy, and that we have to fight him only on the issues.
Well, as I stated in a previous post, I can walk and chew gum at the same time.
I want to fight his actions, but also see him exposed as the illegal POS that he is.

All of this speculation that Obama’s handlers planned this to make his opponents look stupid is pure BS.
I don’t think they had any idea that it would ever come up.

Most people are just sick of Obummer.

The whole thing just proves how petty he is.

We have a sad little narcisist for President - undoubtedly chosen by powerful people because of the ease with which he can be controlled.

He is a pussy - and everyone knows it.

I read at another FReep post that Donald Trump gave a very large political contribution to Rahm Emanuel for his mayoral race. My conspiracy theory is the Trump is raising red herrings for Obama to shoot down, to clear the field for his reelection.

"Advantage Obama [No Joke : The American Spectator declares Barry the winner]"

In an extremely high stakes political poker or chess game. Perhaps the opposing team IS playing into the hand of the aggressor. What if an obviously forged document has been released as "Red Meat" to foment beliefs in their OPFOR for purposes to be revealed later?

I believe that caution should be highly recommended and observed at this point in the "Game."

I believe at this point this is a high probability.

Trump wins this round, handily. Obama would have been better served by not producing this document until well into the 2012 campaign. Now, that arrow has been fired because Trump forced Obama's hand. Obama can try to bring it up again later on, but no one is going to care at that point. I don't know if this was Trump's real intent, but it might have been. Regardless, Trump is a much more intelligent guy than Obama, and he played Obama like the dope that he is.

The liberal, the 'Donald' paid tribute to the Clintons when he beat his chest at getting the 'one' to release a piece of paper... And then the 'Donald' insulted the intelligence of the 'one' demanding his academic records be released... because the 'Donald' had heard the 'one' was not all that bright....

Trump, like many big businessmen, play both sides of the field, hedging their bets by paying off potential winners of political races who can help them (they think), in the future.

We used to call this bribery, “gifts”, “graft”, and “greasing the palm.” Today it is called “political contributions.”

Trump needs the major players in Chicago and New York to remember his contributions so that his businesses can go on largely unhindered. The big question is now, will they? Emanuel got elected. He can tell Trump to go to hell. He no longer needs him. The same for Weiner and Schumer, etc.

I think Trump got “trumphed” by the Democrats and he has to “eat it”.

Until this spring, birtherism was a political plus for Obama.

I am so sick of all the lies.

By what account has this been a "plus" for obummer? On every account he and his gang have been losing ground. They have lost election after election; his poll #s are crumbling right before our eyes and that's w/ the media's absolute shielding and covering up of all the faux pas and muck and malfeasance that he is committing on a daily basis. Where is one shred of evidence that challenging His pResidency's legitimacy has been a plus FOR Oweasel???

"Trump is a much more intelligent guy than Obama, and he played Obama like the dope that he is. "

I tend to agree. Especially as the released files have "issues".

Zer0 is not really all that intelligent. The GOPer who runs against him (Trump needs to run against Zer0 in the 'Rat primaries) needs to focus on both logical arguments for conservatives and emotional arguments for independents and 'rats.

(not sure where the "0" comes from.) 0
