Well now Superman who fought Nazi’s and Japs in WWII, and hunted commies in the 50’s and 60’s has decided Obama’s America stinks so bad that he has to sell out and join the International Dictators Club. Perhaps a new House Committee on Unamerican Activities is in order.

An excellent story by Alan Moore, but not one for the kiddies! One of the more powerful scenes was where KM spares the life of the nurse who had befriended him; then he changes his mind and kills her, because he didn't want people to "think he was going soft."
Chilling.

nope, I had a 1965 record album of superman, in it, Jimmy Olsen gets whacked in th ehead, has a dream Superman becomes president, Clark Kent says after Jimmy wakes up that Superman can never be president because he wasn’t born here.
However, Clark was Adopted by the Kents, he had full citizenship, and to work at the daily planet, at least after 1945, he HAD to have a SSN :)

the famous Kryptonian renounce his U.S. citizenship before the United Nations
If I wrote for Action Comics (but I guess only LIBS can work for them), I'd have Superman tell the UN to SHOVE IT!
What will be next? Batman becoming a LIBERAL??

I've got two copies of the original series. I think #15 is worth about between $150 to $700 depending on condition.
The entire series is worth reading.
Cheers!

Apperently all nations, through the UN, gave Supes honourary citizenship in the 70s.
I believe that there have also been story lines over the years where Superman was given US Citizenship, by act of Congress or some-such.
Whether that granting of citizenship conveyed to Clark Kent is another matter entirely.
My recollection of the Kal El/Clark Kent storyline (or at least one of them) is that the Kents found infant/toddler Kal El in his Kryptonian spaceship and presented them as the orphan son of one of Martha's cousins in another state, who they'd adopted after his parents died. "Clark" being Martha Kent's maiden name.
As to this particular storyline, the anger really needs to be directed at DC Comics, its editors and the writer - rather than at the character (iow, I disagree with the whole "Eff you, Superman!" mentality). I'm not a comic-book collector, but I do have an affinity (affection, even) for the Superman storyline ... and this sort of thing is NOT what Superman would actually do. Clark could certainly be seen as wrestling with the matter, his human-upbringing coming into conflict with his heritage as Kal El ... but in the end CLARK would come through.

Actually, Neal Adams is considered one of the most "realistic" comic artists out there I quite like some of the more "cartoony" artists such as Darwyn Cookeand Bruce Timm.

did DC comics go totally leftist?
I think they have been LEFTISTS for as long as I can remember --- one issue (in the 70s) they had Lois Lane changed into a black women and she was ignored!

Now that is funny and true. After a long day and another one tomorrow, I can at least call it a day with a smile on my face.

Look...up in the sky...it’s a bird...it’s a plane...it’s Sorosman!!!
Looks like the superheroes are more into Critical Theory than they are into saving the planet nowadays.
