Trump Pushes Back at Prez Jokes
Politico ^ | Sunday, May 1, 2011 | Maggie Haberman

Posted on 05/01/2011 10:57:13 AM PDT by kristinn

Donald Trump pushed back Sunday at President Barack Obama for making him the "focus of the evening" in his White House Correspondents' Dinner speech, and laced into Saturday Night Live comedian Seth Meyers as a "stutterer" whose delivery was lacking.

Trump's comments came in a quick phone-in to "Fox and Friends," a day after he sat almost stone-faced while the president and Meyers ripped him repeatedly, to belly laughs from the crowd. People at tables around him gaped at him watching for a reaction, and some of his tablemates wrote on Twitter that it was uncomfortable.

"Well, I really understood what I was getting into — I didn't know that I'd be virtually the sole focus," Trump said. "I guess when you're leading in the polls that sort of thing tends to happen. But I was certainly in a certain way having a good time listening. I don't think the American people are having a good time with $5 gas. ... I was thinking to myself as they were doing this, you know, the American people are really suffering and we're all" having fun at a gala.

"I thought Seth Meyers — his delivery frankly was not good," Trump added. He's a stutterer."

George Lopez is a misogynist, Palin-bashing creep.

I'm ready to pull that lever. No problem at all. We need an economic specialist at the helm right now;

Trump shows how he operates. He calls in advisors....not yes men.

He is not far off base. The clip I saw when Meyers was on kinda sucked.

And Obama would not play by the rules. They would fire and Obama would miss but at the same instant a sniper conveniently set up would take Trump out and Obama would say “I won”. Ok in a really good movie that is.

Apparently HUSSEIN didn’t learn the first time around - don’t screw with “The Donald” - he’ll wipe the floor with you. Trump won’t back down, he’s not afraid of the wimp that is HUSSEIN.

the American people are suffering

I for one am stunned, the country is going into the comode and all some can do is make light, primarily the president.
I didn't find Trump's speech humourous nor did I find it entertaining. Sad state of affairs when I can't even say to my children, aren't you proud?
Will anyone ever stand up to this joker or are we forever doomed?

I don't know why yet, but reading this gave me a very sick feeling in my stomach. Time will tell.

I don’t think singling out Trump, as they did, and trying to freeze him out is going to work.

If you’re either over confident as he is or when you learn that other people’s opinions are about as worth as a magic bag of beans, that tactic doesn’t work well.

Breaking News : Trump, in a mean spirited Republican way, shamelessly makes fun of stutterers.

Trump is going to open up zer0 and spill his innards all over the lawn. zer0 is in a battle with a guy who enjoys the fight and has plenty of cash to fund it. He also has the backing of many Americans who know zer0 is a fraud has no birth certificate and just presented a phony document to all of us. zer0s backers are in for a rough ride and they are going to see how few Americans are on their side.

I'd say Obummble is hiding the biggest bone yard.

Yeah, that is what I am thinking, too. Trump has been in the spotlight for much longer than 0, and so less to dig up. The mistake 0 made was to get into a war of words with a man whose ego and resources are on the same level as his. The press isn't helping 0, since each time they go after Trump, he hits back at 0.

obama is going to regret doing this to trump. I’m not a trump fanboy, but it’s unwise to screw with successful motivated people just for kicks

I agree with you. Trump is comfy in his own skin - 0bummer isn’t. Trump has taken all the slings and arrows thrown at him for years and kept fighting - 0bummer cries and whines about people being unfair to him.

The way I look at it, there can only be 1 loser in this fight and I don’t think it’s Trump. To him there is NO bad publicity.

I don’t know if many FReepers do this, but I occasionally make DIY bumper stickers from image files I find here.

Get ‘bumper sticker’ paper at Office Depot, save and drop the image onto a document and print it - cut it out neatly then spray it with clear spraypaint and let it dry.

Usually gets through rain and several car washes before it even begins to show any wear.

I haven’t seen any Trump bumper stickers anywhere yet, but if there are FReepers who have begun creating any effective images which might make a good Trump sticker, please post here?

TIA.

I disagree, Mr.Trump artfully pulled the discussion back to the misery each American feels, and how his set of Business skills, not Political skills, will help the USA

Just WHEN did Obama change Indonesian citizenship for American citizenship?..
It had to happen with attending documents... OR NOT!...

IF Not.... then there is a bag of worms yet to be uncovered..
IF True.. who greased the slide for it to happen?.. When?. Who? and How? did it happen?..

Who knows if he really is serious about running or is just toying with Obama, I sincerely believe that he hates Obama immensely.
However, I do believe kind of that the birth certificate is real, but the evil one altered it to add more flames to fuel.

Home run. S/B the GOP's response to every Obama comment.

Trump's a clown, but Obama is a fool to get into a p*ssing match with him.
