Trump Pushes Back at Prez Jokes
Politico ^ | Sunday, May 1, 2011 | Maggie Haberman

Posted on 05/01/2011 10:57:13 AM PDT by kristinn

Donald Trump pushed back Sunday at President Barack Obama for making him the "focus of the evening" in his White House Correspondents' Dinner speech, and laced into Saturday Night Live comedian Seth Meyers as a "stutterer" whose delivery was lacking.

Trump's comments came in a quick phone-in to "Fox and Friends," a day after he sat almost stone-faced while the president and Meyers ripped him repeatedly, to belly laughs from the crowd. People at tables around him gaped at him watching for a reaction, and some of his tablemates wrote on Twitter that it was uncomfortable.

"Well, I really understood what I was getting into — I didn't know that I'd be virtually the sole focus," Trump said. "I guess when you're leading in the polls that sort of thing tends to happen. But I was certainly in a certain way having a good time listening. I don't think the American people are having a good time with $5 gas. ... I was thinking to myself as they were doing this, you know, the American people are really suffering and we're all" having fun at a gala.

"I thought Seth Meyers — his delivery frankly was not good," Trump added. He's a stutterer."

Trump I suppose is a billionare, but he used a word that describes America now perfectly and that is suffering.

Is there any video of either what Obama and Myers said, or Trump giving his response?

The President of the United States makes fun of an American citizen and it seems no one thinks that there's something wrong with that? Remember the (brief) indignation with Bush and Clymer? But that wasn't supposed to be for public consumption. This President denigrated a citizen in public, obviously because Trump dared to question "the almighty zero".

This is how low we have been dragged down to the gutter by liberals and their insatiable lust for power. How much lower must we go before the fabric of society is ripped to shreds and the good people start to fight back?

obama is going to regret doing this to trump. I’m not a trump fanboy, but it’s unwise to screw with successful motivated people just for kicks

I hope BO regrets going after Trump and the more "exchange" there is between the two, the more I think the "Trump is working for Obama" theory sounds ridiculous. This was way over the top and if Trump really sat "stoned face" then Trump is pissed. If there is a payback, my money is on Trump.

Trump has more class in his pinky finger than the entire WH crew at the moment.

Notice how Zero has given, once again, the public ‘can’t we all get along’ speech during his tour of Alabama, and then fires buckshot directly across the bow the first chance he gets with an audience and a few drinks in him

Trump will have Zero for lunch, make that brunch.

Slam him with the constitutional eligibility question, Trump.

(think Palin will run with Trump as vp or vice versa?)

Obama and Trump... two thin skinned narcissists.

One liberal Democrat and one, so-called, liberal Republican, aka. RINO!

The comedic genius of Seth Meyers

“Knock Knock”
“Who’s there?”
“Doanld Trump Hahahahahahahaha!”

“Why did the chicken cross the road?”
“Donald Trump Hahahahahahahaha!”

“A guy walks into a bar...”
“Donald Trump Hahahahahahahaha!”

Looks like Obama was riding the Seth Meyers one-trick pony.

The best thing about Red Skelton was, he was laughing at his own joke because he knew the punchline. I was laughing at his laughing before he told the joke.

I miss that guy.

I heard a “strategist” officially connected with the Republican Party this morning attack Trump personally—not what he’s saying, but Trump, personally.

These personal attacks are widespread enough to that it’s obvious the “official” Republican Party line is to attack Trump, his personality and past, instead of his policies—most of which threaten the tax-exempt use of communist Chinese slave labor. That’s hinky to me.

These are the same people that brought us W and McCain—two absolute disasters. I’m beginning to wonder if Trump is the man. Heaven help me.

The Roman statesman Cicero said: “You shall know them by their enemies.” He was a wise man, that Ciss.

What I got out of that function called a White House Correspondents Dinner was the info we all know....how left the media is....I didn’t hear any “so called jokes” about any Dems...other than the obvious Biden..and they were weak...the slurs I heard were toward all things conservative and Republican. O’Reilly wasn’t laughing except at the Juan Williams “joke” either....it was not a funny evening for anyone outside the addicted to Obama fanatics....and Obama fell flat on his face with his tripe...at least in my conservative, American proud, realistic, pro Constitution opinion. It’s a good thing Obama is called black because he acted like “white trash” that night.

Trump might just turn out to be the way the Republican RINO’s can be kicked to the curb once and for all.

Every day be becomes stronger.

obama is going to regret doing this to trump.

I agree and when when Trump declares he is not a candidate but chooses to support another candidate, Obama will be in a world of hurt. The GOP candidate can go face to face with Obama in a frontal assault while Trump, not bound by campaign rules and ethics, can come at Obama from the flank(s). Obama will be outmaneuvered. Game over.

Also, it was kind of like attacking the Supreme Court justices at the first SOTUS, when they were unable to answer back.

If Trump had been given the microphone and equal time, I daresay he could have put Bammy down—even without a teleprompter.

Trump's a clown,

Dismissing Trump as a clown is a standard Leftist-style attack just like Palin is an airhead. What makes him a "clown?"

I would be willing to bet money Trump can’t field all the calls of support he is getting under the radar.

George Lopez (who I assiduously avoid watching) does the same thing. Annoying as hell.

George Lopez isn't funny and when he called President Bush a "puto" (saying, "F- that puto" in one of his stand up gigs, talking about illegal immigration), I've since ignored that sorry, criminal-supporting jerk!
