My approach to firearms advocacy, especially with respect to liberals, is to phrase the argument in terms of first principles. The right to your own life is paramount, and that's the place to begin the argument. All else follows from that premise. It's hard to argue against that premise without exposing oneself as a monster. And if you can gt your opponent to accept that premise, it leads to many other places besides firearms ownership.
