My liberal friends are having a field day about Osama's death. I'm glad he was captured, but the response is driving my crazy. I sincerely despise our president and to see him get credit for something I'm sure he had very little to do with, or for something that fell into his lap, is extremely disconerting.
I've already defriended one friend on facebook for the quote: "I least I got him bitches! Four more years!"
it is sad. I watched two people in particular embarass themselves. Bringing up their new whipping boy Trump over and over during this, and criticizing Fox endlessly for calling him ‘Usama’. Idiots.
Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Sun-tzu.
he is going to be tough to beat now...better lucky than good.
The celebration in the streets is disgraceful. It looks just like the Palestinians after 9/11, or after every time that they kill Israelis. It is always good to complete a mission, but you don’t ever celebrate a killing. It’s like celebrating an execution, because that is exactly what this was, an execution.
What else would you expect your Liberal FB friends to say?
Just remind them that Obama inherited the operation.
Don’t foget that in 1991 Bush 41 had a 90% approval rating.
Why bother, just give Obama credit for making the call, a call that any President would have made, but still, he made it. Then realize that 18 months is a long, long time.
I don’t have a problem with the celebrating. I have a problem with the credit going to Obama and not our intelligence agencies and troops...
Let them have their fun. It’s good enough for now that the bastard is dead.
Most people can’t remember anything that they are not eating at the moment and within two weeks to a month, OBL is going to be a fading memory.
Exactly. The liberals I know are flooding my facebook newsfeed with cheers about how Obama is responsible for all this.
It’s like tv static to me. Just ignore, many are still old friends of mine and not going to befriend them.
I’m glad you wrote that, I am SOO tempted to defriend some people as well. One person wrote that 2012 is now locked. REALLY??? Since their messiah will be taken out in handcuffs soon, I wouldn’t consider that a lock.. :-) Of course I didn’t say that, but was really really tempted!!
I don’t have a problem with Obama getting due credit. It is a little hard for a liberal to reconcile, though, the fact that in order to succeed at this, he turned he back on campaign promises to close down Guantanamo Bay. He got Bin Laden by continuing George Bush’s policies, which he and liberals condemned.
The election is 18 months away -- an eternity in politics, especially if the economy doesn't significantly improve and gas prices remain high.
I say give them their “victory lap” until the next time they go grocery shopping, fill up their gas tanks, or pink slips go out at work. Shouldn’t be that long.
One of the reasons I don’t do Facebook...some of the folks who know me might inject politics in to the mix, and I don’t hold back once somebody else opens the subject.
Jeff -
This is not Sun Tzu. Commonly mis attributed. Although it sounds witty and quoatable like Gen Sun - it lacks the general focus of his usual thinking.
If you think it is Sun Tzu - try sourcing it. Not just from someinternet opinion - but where inthe books -
I just wonder where all the “no blood for oil” mantras have gone.
Most of those who protested “against the war” in the streets are now celebrating the death of Osama. Don’t they realize the contradiction?
Anyway, I am grateful tonight.
I don't think this will have any impact.
The election is still a year and a half away.
It's all going to depend on the economy. If people are still struggling and the dollar is still weak, Obama's odds will be down.
So let the President spend a moment triumphing.
Tomorrow when he wakes up, gas prices will still be high, unemployment will be high, the dollar will be down, we will be in 3 wars, and the conversation will be about the debt ceiling.
