Why wouldn’t DNA testing have been done at Langley or Quantico instead of Mass General?

Doesn’t DNA testing take weeks?

That’s my question: How could they verify a DNA match so quickly?

No. Once you have the two samples of the DNA, you'd PCR up more (a couple of hours) of each and then label the loci of interest in both samples with fluorescently-tagged primers (a couple of hours with 10 minute prepping time) and then do the genotyping (about hour plus another 15 minute prepping time) on the sequencer, and then compare the results (a few minutes using GeneMapper). I know because this is my job.
