Thanks for that info. Interestingly the "expert" (testified in the OJ trial) in the news video says 12-24 hours.
There was some confusion that the testing was done stateside which makes for an improbable timeline.

He may mean that once you submit something for testing it could take that long to have results returned. We get samples in the morning, set up the reactions and have the PCRs run by the afternoon, purified, and on the sequencers before 5PM. Each 96 well plate takes 1 or 2 hours to run. The next morning I examine the results, trim noise, and get the files ready for more careful scrutiny and editing and the final results are handed out that afternoon. So it's a 24 hour turnaround, though the actual time needed for any sample is only about 5 hours.
