The Obama administration has photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body and officials are debating what to do with them and whether they should be released to the public, officials tell ABC News.
“There’s no doubt it’s him,” says a US official who has seen the pictures and also reminds us that OBL was 6’4”.
The argument for releasing them: to ensure that the public knows and can appreciate that he's dead. There is of course skepticism throughout the world that the US government claim that it killed bin Laden is true.
The argument against releasing the pictures: they’re gruesome. He has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.
In July 2003, the US government released photographs of Saddam Hussein’s dead sons Uday and Qusay Hussain but not until after they’d been touched up by a mortician, making them look not quite real.

As someone else posted on another thread elsewhere, I too find it strange how when Saddam was found, there were pics galore of his hiding place and capture, all the way up to a video of his hanging.
But with Osama, only Obama has the picture? That’s too odd for me...
What the HECK does his height have to do with it?? What am I missing?
Why is there a debate??
The age of the internet does not allow for keeping this stuff under the rug.
No photos leads to suspicion, speculation, and then conspiracy.
The “A-rab Street” will no doubt jump at the opportunity to call our bluff with bluster. People at home will then wonder what is the deal, and then all heck breaks loose.
Any presented evidence for his death will simply be taken as confirmation that the conspiracy goes even deeper than originally thought.
Hey we do have to respect the presidents religion after all.
I would have liked to see the body. Pictures, especially digital pictures, aren’t enough. Now I didn’t personally know Osama, but how many tall bearded Arab guys with big noses, wearing white robes, and escorted by armed men, have we already killed?

Last night FOX said it had pictures but wouldn’t be releasing them because of the gruesomeness. But that was shortly before they came out and said the picture on the web was a fake so I suspect FOX had that picture and not the real deal. IIRC, Hussein’s sons had been cleaned up a bit so they would be more recognizable. It’s possible pictures were taken of OBL after his religious washing in preps for the sea dumping. However, with this administration, I take everything with a 5 pound bag of salt.
OBL was the ONLY muslim who was 6'4"!!!!!!

There is a photo of the dead Osama on www.blogdelnarco.com now. It sure looks like him with a bullet through the left eye. The text is in Spanish.
It is unusual to b e that tall in certain parts of the world. I read he was shot above the left eye, and brains are visible.

Would you really believe faked pictures of a faked death released by a fake president?
It’s all a big ruse to give Obama political cover and give Osama, if he is still alive, cover from being pursued by US forces.
For all we know, Osama could be living large on an Obama family compound in Kenya, Indonesia or even Hawaii.
