I have a hard time believing that. That is the WH’s story why they can't post a photo right now, because he's unrecognizable due to that shot to the forehead. I think it's pure BULLSHIT. The SEAL’s weapon of choice for CQB is the H&K MP5, which is 9mm. A shot in the head with 9mm ball round produces a nice clean hole going in and if you're lucky a 2-3” hole on the other side. The 115 gr. standard FMJ 9mm NATO bullet is too slow and way too light to impart nearly enough energy to blow his head apart. Even a .45 230 gr FMJ Ball round won't do it. Even with a contact wound where you get muzzle gases inside the skull. It takes a much heavier round, like NATO 7.62mm or a 12 ga. to blow a head apart. Trust me, I have seen more than enough of them to know.
