Somewhere here on FR, someone posted that it was reported Panetta watched it, while Obama monitored it, or something to that effect. It appears he may have gotten bored, or whatever, and didn’t watch the entire thing, was my interpretation.

Ah here it is: "We were able to monitor on a real-time basis the progress of the operation, from its commencement, to its time on target, to the extraction of the remains," Brennan said in a White House news briefing. "We were able to have regular updates to ensure that we had real-time visibility into the progress of the operation."

Brennan would not go into details about what sort of technology was used.

They lie abut things they don't need to lie about.
