Barack Obama kept military commanders hanging by declaring he would 'sleep on it' before taking 16 hours to give the go-ahead to raid Bin Laden's compound.
Hit squads of specialist Navy Seals - who were not even told who they were preparing to capture - had practised the mission at two reconstructions of the terror chiefs sprawling compound.
The mission looked set to be given the all clear last Thursday when analysts confirmed beyond doubt that Bin Laden was in busy town of Abbottabad in northern Pakistan.

Well I sure as hell fault him for it. if the military ok’d it it would have taken me one second to approve. This should have been the easiest decision for a president to make. Easier than selecting a tie for a presser.

He had no choice but to go ahead with it!....He would have gotten the Bill Clinton Label.....”We were offered OBL but didn’t take him”. He probably wished they had never found him. All Obama is thinking about is how anything affects his agenda and image. The idea of OBL organizing another stike again after he had the chance to get him was to much of a risk to his agenda. He could have brought him back for a show trial and hanging but Obama didn’t want all the bad press from Muslim demonstrations. Obama is always calculating...In this case it took him 16 hours.

Maybe — but if that were the case, then al-Qaeda could have been fabricating “failed capture/kill attempts” as recruiting tools for years, right?

A LEADER _can_ make those decisions in minutes.
It’s not like he wasn’t given prior notice that the opportunity may arise. Heck, he claims HE gave the project top priority as soon as he took office; no reason one of his staff couldn’t walk in with “80% odds we can kill OBL within 24 hours, here’s the issues...” and walk out with “do it” in minutes, if not seconds. We’ve overthrown two countries and spent hundreds of billions of dollars over a decade to kill this guy - it’s no time to “sleep on it”.

The Iraq war started with a scramble to bomb a restaurant sure to contain Saddam. He was, in fact, there...but he suspected the informant, and used the opportunity to test loyalty. He was gone before the bombs hit.
What world changing action took place? Just how has the world changed? Though this was a fantastic act of revenge, one that was going to happen sooner or later anyway, nothing in Islam has changed. Terror will continue on as before, until we go to war in ernest to defeat all these scumbags.

Obama just plain sucks, I give all the credit to the U.S. military, special forces and Marines who did the job, and CIA and other planners. Obama knows only one thing about military operations, he hates them. He dithered on Afghanistan too, waiting FIVE MONTHS to decide if General McCrystal should get the troops he requested. After 5 months Obambi gave McCrystal 30,000 troops, even though McCrystal publicly stated he needed a bare bones minimum of between 40,000 - 80,000 troops, "or else the war could be lost". NOTE that the war in Afghanistan is not being won, and that Olama has revealed to the enemy that we'll be withdrawing in just a few months. Great leader, yep.
It appears that all roads to the “coup within the WH” stories lead to one guy: Ulsterman or “Ulster Man” or “Ulster Mann”.
So far, every single story I’ve seen on the subject has one of those words in it. One of the things about the internet that concerns me is that if you are not careful, you can think you are getting a story from a diverse collection of sources, only to find out that in the end, those sources trace back to a single source.
It looks like that is the case here, at least so far.
Wikileaks mentioned the town he was in in days before the action. We are VERY lucky he didn’t get spooked or something and leave.
This schlepper needed 16 hours to make up lies and excuses to tell his muzzie friends why he finally said to himself “sorry OBL 2012 is coming and you are under the bus”. That under carriage under the bus is getting mighty crowded.
I'm just saying the decision had huge downsides, and was not an easy one to make.
