WASHINGTON (AP) -- The staff director for the Senate Indian Affairs Committee is objecting to the U.S. military's use of the code name "Geronimo" for Osama Bin Laden during the raid that killed the al-Qaida leader.

Geronimo was an Apache leader in the 19th century who spent many years fighting the Mexican and U.S. armies until his capture in 1886.

“one of the greatest Native American heroes”
Geronimo?

Hardly a “”one of the greatest Native American heroes” to those he killed tortured and maimed!

It was a lapse in that Geronimo was an American. UBL was too low to be given his name for that reason, alone. Also, many native patriots deserved to be spared the association with the evil mass killer, bin Laden

Some in the British press are strongly implying that Obama sat on intelligence concerning the availability of Bin Laden until he was told to move it or lose it. So your tag line might not be far off.

The worst part of this was his admission that they knew where he was for a period of time, and took no action. Talk about your clueless moment. I would have held that close to the vest.

Actually, very little time would have passed once I knew where this guy was.

Thanks for the tagline comment. It’s morphing as time goes by.
