Giuliani and former President George W. Bush both received invitations. Bush declined, with one source suggesting it was to give Obama his moment.

It's unclear what Giuliani will do, but the former New York mayor — who vaulted to global fame after the 9/11 terror attacks — spent part of the day on Monday in lower Manhattan near the 16-acre World Trade Center site, and has praised Obama for how he handled the military raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

The full range of invitations wasn't immediately clear, although it seemed likely that New York City's current mayor, Mike Bloomberg

Present Stroker is looking to milk this for all it’s worth.

President Bush was right to decline this “invite”.

Perhaps Rudy Guiliani will do the same?

I would stay away. This is nothing more then obumber doing his endzone dance on the graves of 9/11 victims. The man has no class.

I think Rudy is too smart to let himself be used in a propaganda play by Obama.

But I’ll bet Bloomberg will jump at the chance. It’ll give him a great opportunity to show his support for building the Ground Zero Mosque.

IMO this is an occasion to celebrate privately with fervor, but publicly with reserve, yet I am willing to forgive those who do otherwise.

Sounds like he's looking for someone to "protect" him.

Is he going to the new mosque location after that??

The guy is a muzzie. I have no doubt.

Bush should send Cheney instead, since it was Cheney's idea for the Seal 6 unit that ultimately pulled off this historic special op.

That would be worth paying money to see.

I like the odds. Bloomberg is not exactly America's mayor. Rudy has nothing to gain here.

I’ll say this about Mr.Soetoro: He’s done an amazing job deflecting attention from himself. What’s next, Jimmy Hoffa found on a desert island but sadly he was dragged out sea by a freak wave at the last minute? Hey it’s true, they just don’t want to show any photos lest it antagonize the mob.

Bush should send Cheney instead

Great idea. Obama is more afraid of Cheney than he was of bin Laden.

My thoughts as well. This whole thing really smells, and I'm glad none of that Obama-stink is going to get on President Bush.

Seeing Obama stand alone would be something to behold, especially after knowing he tried to rope others in to whatever it is he is doing.

Rudy had the good sense to decline meeting Yassir Arafat when the terrorist thug visited New York City. Others were not so wise.
