Justice put him in prison, now justice is his mission (UW-O professor killed wife/mother-in-law)

".....From 1977 to 1990, Lenza served time in Missouri’s State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, also called “The Walls.” He was convicted of murder in 1975 after confessing to killing his first wife and mother-in-law, putting his mother-in-law’s body in a barrel and throwing the barrel into the Mississippi River....."

Who's instructing your university student?

The reason I posted this excerpt from an old article at the Columbia Missourian paper is that this felon is a professor at UW-Oshkosh (just imagine his anti-cop lesson plans).

Michael Lenza "Assistant Professor, Ph.D. in Sociology, University of Missouri - Columbia (2005). Publications and research includes: statistical and qualitative methodologies, death penalty, research methods and ethics, medical marijuana, theory, convict criminology, corrections, criminology, and institutional violence."

ALSO teaching criminal justice IN THE SAME UW-O Sociology Department is ANOTHER convicted felon:

May 3, 2011- The [WI] Professor Propagandizes [wants students to sign recall petition regardless of district] "..."A recording released by the Republican Party of Wisconsin exposes Professor Stephen Richards using class time to actively campaign for the recall of State Senator Randy Hopper, encouraging his students to sign recall petitions offered by circulators present in his classroom.

"In the tape, recorded during a criminal justice class,Richards can be heard encouraging a female student to sign the recall petition even though she thinks she lives outside the district, and instructing students to sign using their campus address instead of their parents’ home address...."

AND THIS BRINGS US TO VOTER ID legislation pushing it's way through the Wisconsin legislature.

Photo ID bill advances in Capitol Assembly committee’s passage follows party lines

[excerpts] Republicans who control the Legislature plan to pass the measure as early as next week. GOP Gov. Scott Walker supports requiring photo ID to vote.

To make its IDs compliant with the requirements of the Assembly bill, the University of Wisconsin-Madison would have to put addresses on them. UW officials are reluctant to do that because the IDs include magnetic strips that open doors to dorm rooms, and students would be at risk of break-ins if they lost them.

....IDs issued by UW-Madison, as well as most if not all other UW schools, do not include addresses, signatures or dates of birth. The UW-Madison cards expire five years after they are issued. Marquette University's ID cards do not include addresses, signatures, birth dates or expiration dates.

....In addition to certain student IDs, also eligible for voting purposes would be Wisconsin driver's licenses, state-issued ID cards, military IDs, passports, naturalization certificates or IDs issued by Native American tribes based in Wisconsin.

The state Department of Transportation would provide free IDs - but not driver's licenses - to those who asked for them, a provision included in the bill to ensure the ID requirement did not amount to an unconstitutional poll tax.

.....The measure could prevent people from voting in another's name, but not the most common form of voter fraud - felons voting while on state supervision.

....The bill also would move the partisan primary from the second Tuesday in September to the second Tuesday in August. That change is being made to ensure Wisconsin complies with a federal law meant to ensure military and overseas voters have enough time to receive and return their ballots. [end excerpt]

It took a good long way into that article to bring up his CRIME OF MURDER. I believe in redemption but this is a little too political for me.

Can you believe it?!

I had to search to find his crime! I found out about this “professor” on one of the Wis newspaper blogs comment sections. Commenters say the tone is anti-cop in the classroom.

Also in that link to the story posted, the good professor says he doesn’t talk about his crime (double murder) even though he can defend his actions, because the people he murdered aren’t alive to defend themselves (what a prince).

Also, the author of that piece, makes sure it’s known what a great teacher he is, writes “excellent!” and stuff on the students’ papers, that he should be a model for other teachers!

You know you kill one person, well, there could be an explanation for that. You kill TWO people, you are starting to look a little bloodthirsty.

I would like to know how his new mother-in-law feels about this fine fellow.

Excellent teacher? Ask him how it felt to snuff out two lives. I always wonder if a murderer could do it again after crossing that line.

Punishment did not fit the crimes committed, the guy is very fortunate for the time being.

This thread is from 2004. It might still be useful.
