Number of the Week: Millions Set to Lose Unemployment Benefits

5.5 million: Americans unemployed and not receiving benefits.

...

Many Americans, though, are simply running out of time. As of March, about 14 million people were unemployed and looking for work, according to the household survey. At the time the survey was done, about 8.5 million were receiving some kind of unemployment payments, according to the Labor Department’s Employment and Training Administration. That leaves about 5.5 million people unemployed without benefits, up 1.4 million from a year earlier.

...

In the coming months, hundreds of thousands more will drop off the unemployment rolls. The number of people using up their regular 26 weeks of unemployment payments peaked in August 2009 at nearly 800,000 a month. That means a lot of people should be hitting their 99-week limit right about now.

If ‘conservatives’ have those kind of values, why bother not being a thief and rip off everything you can?

Heck, appears you can claim to be a millionare and then brag about it in the end too.

Kind of think you are right. That might work with higher paying jobs, but the low waged jobs have to take the first in the door who can read, write and pass a P test.

To the lazy who didn’t even try to work:

Well this old geezer who hasn’t seen a COLA in 2 years, seen her hubby’s Navy pension check take a nearly $400 tax hike and only seen groceries and gas climb out the roof, who has been told we don’t want to take you as a patient, you are on Medicare, who has had to cut out occasional small luxuries along with belt tightening, sure isn’t sorry for them.

They should have been the ones in those commodity lines (the new soup lines) instead of all those frail old seniors I’ve seen double or triple over the past 2 years so the lazy could SIT ON THEIR A’s and draw ‘arm chair’ money up to the last penny, then cry for MORE.

I won’t cry for you. )-:

Take a job even if it is a lower paying one, just stop leaching off the tax serfs who do work and pay taxes.
