DETROIT – According to a new report, 47 percent of Detroiters are ”functionally illiterate.” The alarming new statistics were released by the Detroit Regional Workforce Fund on Wednesday. WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with the Fund’s Director, Karen Tyler-Ruiz, who explained exactly what this means. “Not able to fill out basic forms, for getting a job — those types of basic everyday (things). Reading a prescription; what’s on the bottle, how many you should take… just your basic everyday tasks,” she said. “I don’t really know how they get by, but they do.

Since at least the 60s. Like I said, we elected a serious secretary of state this time around and we already have democrats facing charges for multiple counts of election fraud.

And you can bet that that 47% is almost unanimously living off the fruit of someone else’s labor. Freeloaders don’t need to be able to read.
Generally, functional illiteracy is defined as the bottom two tiers out of five on the literacy scale.
Forty to fifty percent of all Americans fall in those two tiers. Detroit is not that far off the mark.
57% of Haitians are illiterate.
Detroit is just trying to catch up.

While I am not familiar with the Detroit teachers, I can assure you that the best teachers in the world would not be able to teach the population of Detroit anything. This is a population born on welfare, raised in crime-ridden communities by single parents who would rather sit on their butts and live off the system than even consider work and who taught their offspring that only chumps actually get up and go to a job.
These same welfare moochers send thugs to school who not only do not want to learn themselves, but make it their business to make certain the no one in any class they attend has a chance of learning, all the while, threatening not only classmates, but the teachers, as well. The education system is never going to be fixed as long as the libs make certain that the lazy and ignorant are paid to breed.
Mission accomplished ... it is so much easier to control ones sheeple if they can’t read.
Wouldn’t want them able to look up ‘stuff’ for themselves. Before you know it they would even be thinking for themselves.
The city is reverting to nature so why shouldn’t its residents revert to a caveman level of education?
They don’t need to know how to read. They just need to know that D means good and R means bad.
People would be shocked to know how many of those same people cannot tell time on an old fashioned watch or clock. Without ditigal numbers, they are clueless.

It would likely be safer to be a white farmer in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe than to live within the Detroit city limits. There are massive gaps left by burned buildings in the 1960’s riots that have never been filled. This has been a long, steady, predictable demise of a once great city. The powers that be saw it happening and did nothing to stop it for fear of the racism allegations. They do-gooders signed Detroit’s death warrant and the cowards turned their faces away while the execution was carried out.
Yes....and if the people do not take back the RESPONSIBILITY of educating their children, this kind of pathetic social disintegration will continue. Ahhhh...and they need to get back to the Christian virtues that our Founders understood were so vital to a free REPUBLIC!
