Well, it wasn’t pretty, but Rhode Island trial lawyer John McConnell was confirmed to take over a vacant federal judgeship seat in the Ocean State on Wednesday. * * * GOP leaders opposed McConnell, citing his record as a trial lawyer in cases against businesses. Republicans also said McConnell was less than truthful in his testimony to the Senate.

How did he even get 60 cloture votes to allow a confirmation vote? This is ridiculous.

Everyone knows that RI is a worthless Rat state. Just look at what a mess it is. If this guy didn’t get the spot, it would actually be news.

It says, “The Senate voted 50-44 to confirm McConnell to the bench after a 63-33 tally to end a filibuster orchestrated by GOP leaders.”

The key vote, of course, was the cloture vote, where they got 63 votes. It would seem that several Republicans must have voted for cloture, and then switched over to “no” in the second vote, when it DIDN’T MATTER. Can anyone find out who they were?

This is not just a problem with certain ueber-RINOs. It’s also a problem with the Senate leadership, which continually lets them get away with this sort of thing without any punishment whatsoever.

This allows the limp-wrists and RINO’s to LIE when they stand and say they voted AGAINST this leftist judge.

A despicable, lying trial lawyer?

Who would ever believe such a thing.

Paging John Edwards...

A lawyer taking over a seat? What, he didn’t sue enough people to buy his own chair? Hey! Perry Mason! Get your own La-Z-Boy! You’d think they’d teach them that at law school right after they learn about tarts. Why they pay that much money to a law school to learn about hookers, I’ll never understand. And Contact Law? What, you sue ‘em if you ordered blue ones and they send you brown ones? How long can that take. And Legal Briefs? What are they, like the Mormons and have their own kind of underwear?
