Sources: Bin Laden Acted 'Cowardly,' Confused in Final Moments
FoxNews.com ^ | 5/5/11 | Jennifer Griffin, Justin Fishel and Catherine Herridge

Sources involved in the operation that took down Usama bin Laden told Fox News the terrorist leader acted "scared" and "completely confused" in his final moments, "shoving his wife" at the Navy SEAL who ultimately shot him.

The information helps clarify the conflicting details about what exactly happened toward the end of the 40-minute raid on bin Laden's northern Pakistan compound. Sources who were part of the mission said bin Laden acted in a "cowardly manner" when confronted. Fox News has also learned that while bin Laden was unarmed, he was standing near the door within reach of two weapons -- an AK-47 and a Makarov handgun that are now in U.S. custody. The handgun is a 9mm semi-automatic Russian pistol, standard issue in the Russian military until 1991.

A senior U.S. official also told Fox News that only one of the five people killed in the raid was carrying a weapon and firing. The detail seemed at first to diverge from White House accounts claiming the Navy SEALs encountered resistance throughout the raid and were engaged in a firefight during much of the 40-minute operation. However, the scene was described as chaotic, with U.S. forces encountering barricades and women in the compound screaming and attacking the men.

How about “the seals acted stupidly” and “we’ll invite al-quaida over for a beer to discuss it”

Bill Maher's hero was a coward all along.

It looks like most media have gotten the memo from the White House. They’re now beginning to use the sobriquet “UBL”. Guess “Usama” or “Osama” is still too close to “Obama”...

We know that BS it’s just to shut up Michael Moore and friends.
Break door, throw flash grenade, shoot to kill, turn camera back on.

Yeah, that is how I see it. How could anyone not be scared when suddenly invaded by intruders with guns, especially SEAL’s. However, if it is true he shoved his wife at them, that act goes beyond normal fear to definite cowardice.

Ditto on that. Wake me up in the middle of the night with choppers whop-whopping overhead and 40 guys firing full auto. I would not only be confused, but scared absolutely $h!tless.

Yeah, like I’m gonna believe yet another “ANONYMOUS,” unidentified “Source” who has yet another version, clarification, revision, correction, etc.

AN INTERESTING TWIST?

Somebody who called in on the Rush show brought up an interesting point which I'm surprised no one else has picked up--including me--(at least to my knowledge) before.

He said that it is strange that everyone has claimed that the pics of OBL are gruesome and show "brain matter."

Now, as someone who has seen someone shot in the face/front lobe (both real and as portrayed in movies) there is usually a small entrance wound and (depending on the caliber and type of projectile) a substantial exit wound and that is where the "brain matter" would be visible.

Thus if he was shot "in the face," how would releasing a pic show brain matter which would (should) only be visible from the rear?

Not that I care if OBL was shot from the front, side or back; whether he was standing, kneeling, with his hands in the air surrendering or even sitting buck naked on the crapper, reading the Qur'an.

It just gives food for thought and simply adds to the already, FUBAR, situation.

Bin Laden was armed with his 36 D caliber wife, which he threw at the SEALs forcing them to shoot in self defense.

I hope the SEAL that shot him got to have an “Hasta la Vista, baby” hero shot moment.

I guarantee, at least for the shooter, that whole scene was in slow motion.

re: He must have felt really secure

My guess would be he had been assured by the Pakistani government that they would know if anyone had discovered his hideaway and they would warn him to get out before those who were looking for him could get there. He probably had no idea what was going on and who was confronting him. I expect it was pretty dark and IMHO all armed men look the same in dim light!

Kudos to the person who decided not to inform the authorities what was afoot. That’s how he got away last time!

Frankly, I never would have expected this, but I've lost interest in news about what happened in Pakistan.

At least while this regime is in power, I don't expect any of the stories hitting the media to have anything to do with reality. Instead of telling those portions of the truth that can be released consistent with national security, as a conservative would; or telling an at least moderately clever and beneficial lie and sticking with it, as Clinton would have done; they seem to be conducting what should have been a professional but corrupt administration's focus group experiment, releasing a few dozen different stories, but instead of test driving each lie on a couple dozen volunteers, they are releasing a mutually incompatible daily rewrites of the events. I wonder if they plan on continuing this until they get a version that people like. Obama may be the most pathetic excuse for a great power leader in centuries.

I think something like that too.

I have no idea what his relationship with Pakistan was but I bet he did feel safe while in the midst of a large Pakstani military presence.

“Version #72?”

‘THAT is funny. Obama is giving Osama his 72 versions.’

Good one! Hollyweird’s movie title could be —

Obama, Osama, and 72 Versions

I’m starting to think that they stumbled across Osamas body in a cave some months ago and the Obama regime is fabricating this drama for political points.
