One thing that few people notice is mouth shape. Non-native-speakers of a language will virtually always shape their mouths in the shape used by speakers of their native language. He is shaping his mouth in an “O” shape; most English speakers and probably all American English speakers shape their mouths in the “smile” (horizontal) shape.
