Absolutely, that's what I'm asking - what was that country or part of Africa called in 1961 - It's official name and all? On official documents and all?

I'm a 'dye in the wool' birther - there's something extremely fishy about Barry - birthers-to me- encompasses much more than where he was born...his past does not jive.

Not the point. The point was, BHO, Sr was a pan-African nationalist who thought of himself as African and wanted Kenya to be an independent nation, even though it was not in 1961. So, it's perfectly believable that he would give his race as African and his nationality as Kenyan. Kenya became independent in 1963.

Here is the link to the LYCOS search engine. You might also Google “History of Kenya” and would get about the same info. From what I could see, it was not officially KENYA until 1963/64, but what it was called prior to that is not clear. Might have even been Kenya all the while it was under Brit rule. Good luck.
