Hey Frog it's a Universal. I've only put about 20 rounds through it since I got last year. I've spent more time polishing and cleaning and making it look brand new. I don't think it was ever used very much at all.

I think it is amazing that even guns that aren’t highly regarded have tripled in and quadrupled in price
I see Universals selling for $450 all day long now.
My old universal is a tack driver.
Century arms CETMES got a bad rap because they parkerized the Bolt, God only knows why. Then people complained of sand in the works, Duhh! Knock the grit off with a greenie pad and oil it.
I picked up 2 for $350 each. They whack a gong at 400 yards just fine and never jam
They are still under valued at the current price of $599

I get this odd feeling you have a bad range report.

That picture was from the add the guy put online. It’s mucho purtier now, with a GI sling plus oiler, and some new mags.
And several hours of just cleaning and polishing.

Tried to today. Perfect range conditions. Ended up chasing holes on the paper. Do yourself a favor and pull that scope off, get a can of brake cleaner and a tube of Loctite #243. The friggin’ base screws are loose! The SHCS (you'll need a 4mm hex wrench) only engage the scope body by three threads, so let the Loctite do the work and don't over torque. Apply Loctite to the mating surfaces also.

Mine is very accurate.
Ive been meaning to pick up a set of the twin recoil springs for spares but if they haven’t worn out in 29 years I suppose they wont wear out tomorrow

Hey 50, we live and learn. There’s been a couple of times while working on guns in my garage that I refer to it as Camp Stupid or FOB Numbnuts!! More so when a spring hits the cieling!!

I’m using claw mount HK style mount.
So you never got to exercise the scope?
Sigh, I am sorry you had a frustrating day. I hope the optics are OK.
A lot of the mounting hardware nowadays is just tin ****
Mine seems rock solid. I never even had to put in those screws. It was predone.
I just screwed down the thumb screws
