Because they will play the same "spend now cut later" game they always play. Unfortunately later never comes.

This will not end well for the country.

The cuts wouldn’t happen instantaneously — but in general, that is the bargain we’re talking about: You raise the debt ceiling in order to get the Democrats to go along with the huge cuts. That’s the other side of the leverage in this issue.

Bonehead demands Trillions in cuts.
But the truth is Bonehead and Cantor will fold like a cheap suit. They both have a history of folding.

They demand trillions but will settle for 50 or 60 billion.
