The tea partiers take legitimate credit for much of the upheaval in the 2008 congressional election, when Nancy Pelosi was tossed from her position as House Speaker and the Republicans were handed a new majority there with enough party members to control the vote results without any help from Democrats.
But things have deteriorated a little bit since then, and activists joined today in a news conference to issue a warning to the GOP members they describe as "RINOs," for Republicans in Name Only, to start responding to what voters want, or else.
"We're deeply disappointed. Instead of a fighter for U.S. taxpayers, [GOP House Speaker John] Boehner has been a surrenderist, if that's a word," said William Temple, the chairman of the The Tea Party Founding Fathers' Freedom Jamboree and National Straw Poll Convention, scheduled Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 in Kansas City.
"He waves the white flag before the battle's even joined," he said.

Amen to that. Is he even a Republican???? He certainly doesn't sound like one or act like one. Nancy Pelosi Jr. -- tears and all.
DUMP HIM!!!!!
Get someone with some b*lls who can stand up to the stupid democrats.
Does he even know he is the MAJORITY leader!?!?!?!?!?
Done.
Same with Mitch McDaniels. Those libs pitching him, know he’s a across the isle man, and an old Rockefeller elite, with no set of brass either. No TV personality to him, and that is a must.
It’s like putting up a sweating, 5 O’clock shadowed Nixon against the hunky young JFK. You might have gotten away with it when TV wasn’t the biggest news source, but now that it is, no charisma, no looks, no chance. It was one of the things that got Jaun McCain, he came across terrible on TV vs 0. Why doesn’t a man as rich as he is get his teeth fix? He grimaces not smiles.
I’m poor by his standards, but I put my own money into my teeth, they do at least look decent when I smile.
Which got ate up by 0 little Libya war.
What you’re missing or have forgotten is how Boehner lied about the spending cuts the last time he was “throwing down the gauntlet.” We were told about or promised over $ 60B and we got supposedly $ 38B and then that turned out to be mostly accounting gimmicks.
Rush was commenting on Boehner’s comments last night about the debt/taxes/etc. Take it with a grain of salt.
Precisely! His words do not match his actions! (His) words are cheap (and often meaningless)!
