The amazing thing to me is how many conservatives have swallowed this garbage. I make it a point to always try to use the pronouns "he", "his", "him", etc when speaking generically. I have been surprised at how often I am "corrected" by "conservatives" and urged to say "one", or "one's", or even "he or she" or "his or her"!
I typically respond by telling them that I speak the English language; and by asking them what language it is that they think they're speaking ... cuz it ain't English.
