According to the Associated Press, Obama "will celebrate American poetry and prose with a gathering of poets, musicians and artists at the White House next Wednesday night." One of the poets who will attend is Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. who goes by the name “Common.” It is likely Obama met Common at the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ were both men were members...In fact, Common defended his minister.

Rap music is misogynistic, incites people to riot, kill and destroy. It is destructive. Rap music by and large gives music, real music a bad name.

Is it any wonder why the music industry is suffering its worst decline in decades.

I disagree with the premise of your point, “rap music” is more like “rap noise”.

A hodgepodge of cacophonous beats and sounds pasted together along with mush-mouthed, non-intelligible “words” about money, materialism and misogyny, with a few “knowwutimsayins” thrown in. Garbage noise and garbage “pimp and ho” culture.

The King of non-replying is still at it, I see. If you are the real J.W. you're doing yourself no favors here.

I posted this article (from The Daily Caller) on my Facebook page this morning. Should I post it as 'news' here so my page gets hits?

A sample of this clown's “poetry”:

Dem boy wanna talk... [indecipherable]
Whatcha gon do if ya got one gun?
I sing a song for the hero unsung
with faces on the mural of the revolution
No looking back cos’ in back is what's done
Tell the preacher, god got more than one son
Tell the law, my Uzi weighs a ton
I walk like a warrior,
from them I won't run
On the streets, they try to beat us like a drum
In Cincinnati, another brother hung
A guinea won't see the sun
with his family stung
They want us to hold justice
but you handed me none
The same they did to Kobe and Michael Jackson
make them the main attraction....

Was justice meted out to Clarence Thomas during his hearings?

Was it justice when during the Bush administration the media and many celebrities were calling Colin Powell an Uncle Tom?

Invitees include the winner of a recent poetry contest.

The winning poem:

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
I hate Bush
Cuz it’s all his fault.

In 2003, first lady Laura Bush had planned a poetry evening, and invited several poets to reprise the work of Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes and Walt Whitman. Although none of those poets had urged violence against a president, Mrs. Bush canceled the event after left-of-center poets protested and threatened to disrupt the event.

According to the Associated Press, Elizabeth Alexander, Billy Collins, Rita Dove, Kenneth Goldsmith, Alison Knowles, Aimee Mann and Jill Scott also are scheduled to attend Wednesday’s event.
