One of the men being hailed a hero for his actions during Sunday night's flight from Chicago to San Francisco where a passenger attempted to break through the cockpit door talked about his efforts on Tuesday.
Larry Wright, who is a retired police officer, said he did what he thinks anyone should do under the same circumstances. Wright sat down with reporters at SFO two days after the flight landed safely and the man was taken into police custody.
A man named Rageh al-Murisi is accused of walking to the front of the plane and attempting to get in the cockpit.
Wright said he was sitting in seat 20C when he noticed a fellow passenger walking past. "As I turned, there was a person walking past me. He rapidly broke into a trot... then yelled 'Allahu akbar.'" Wright said from his training as a police office he knew there was a problem and he immediately got up and followed the man. He said when he reached him, he was at the cockpit door. Wright said he put him in a control hold with the help of four or five other people.
"I started thinking about the possible scenarios that could be playing out here. There could’ve been a contaminant of sorts. There could’ve been an unexploded ordinance on the gentleman, so I asked if they had any more flexcuffs," Wright said.
Wright said he physically sat on top of al-Murisi for the remainder of the flight. By that time, al-Murisi had both his arms and his legs in plastic handcuffs and a belt and he was barefoot after Wright and another stripped him of his shoes and socks.
Wright said al-Murisi never spoke to him directly but said "Allahu akbar" some more 30 times during the duration of the flight.

A Muslim does not charge a cockpit yelling Allah Akbar 30 times without nefarious motives.

Flying with a belt these days is a real pain. You have to take it off and put it back on after passing through security. The only reason I wear it is in case I have to wrap it around someones neck to drag them down.

Why don't they call it what it is?
There is no such thing as a nomal muslim guy. Remember the “moderate” everyone knew who cut his wife’s head off?
I’m witness to the TSA patting down a cancer patient in a wheel chair. The guy was emaciated and still had multiple jp’s in his body draining him, couldn’t walk, but was forced to stand hanging onto the agents neck for stability.
Threat?
It’s the typical prey of these TSA cowards. Luckily Schumer’s going to get them to do trains next. Eventually you’ll have to get molested every time you enter your car.

I’ve had a double hip replacement and so, of course, I set off the buzzers every time I go through security —and I get the royal pat down. I’m a 60 year old grandma....I sure fit the profile.
One time I sat down to wait my turn for the TSA Tickle, and there was another woman also waiting. I looked at her and said, “hip or knee” and she said, “knee”. I muttered (so we wouldn’t get the strip search deluxe) that we really looked the Butch and Sundance and up to no good....
I’m driving to see the grandbabies next time....

Actually it’s not a joking matter. IMHO, This guy should have been treated to the same treatment the shoe bomber got...beaten to a pulp.

Assuming that these guys weren't "terrorists" (i.e., an organized action), we're nonetheless inflicted with an indigenous population who spontaneously try to kill themselves and everybody with them.
It's one of the best reasons for profiling yet. Odds are any given Muslim is going to be either a terrorist or a nut case. And, in either event, a genuine safety risk.
True, but unless it's an itsy-bitsy bomb it won't matter if you are sitting on him or in the back of the plane, if it goes off.
Any attempt to interfere with the operation of the plane should be considered attempted mass murder and dealt with accordingly.

What decent Americans need to do is just stop flying. Only when the airlines are driven to the brink of bankruptcy will they finally stand up to the TSA and say enough is enough! I’ve logged more than a million miles flying during my working career, but flying has ceased to be worth the effort and I’ve decided that I’m not a customer anymore.
Cop with 27 years and retired “because of a back injury”. So the guy is probably getting disability. At least he is making himself useful.
