That was a helpful post. May explain why my Mini 14 is so inaccurate firing .223 Rem. Plus or minus three inches at a hundred yards is not a good thing. My sks can reliably hit a tennis ball at the same range... the mini... sometimes.

No, the Mini-14’s inaccuracy comes from other sources, like barrel whip. Ruger recently and finally addressed the issue with the new 580-series (IIRC) Mini14.
