She is supposed to be advertising a sexy bikini.
But instead the model on this poster, in Birmingham, has been defaced in an act of vandalism blamed on militant Muslims who were offended by her flesh.
Similar acts of vandalism have been carried out in the London borough of Tower Hamlets. Police there also believe extremists are responsible.
The advert, which promotes a £3.99 bikini top from high-street fashion retailer H&M, a scantily-dressed model stands on a sun-kissed, white sand beach.
The freestanding advertising unit, stands in the Balsall Heath area of Birmingham, which has a large Muslim population.
Across the road from 'Muslim Students House Masjeed', an education centre, the poster is next to a busy main road.
The fact that almost all of the model's flesh has been covered has led local residents to speculate that the vandalism was not random, but a religiously-motivated targetted attack.
Delivery driver Robert Tonkins, 45, said: "You see a lot of women wearing the hijab around here, and what's been done to that poster looks very similar to it.
'I don't think it's just kids messing around - they've spray-painted specific areas and covered up anything that might be offensive to very religious people.

Yup!
That’s pretty sad that you used Megan Kelly’s Picture and defaced it with that animal. I actually don’t find your post funny, but offensive to Ms. Kelly and womem in general.

I don't feel sacrilegious - Megan Kelly's just a news host, not a saint. And I didn't make her pose for the skimpy lingerie booby shots - though I don't mind that somebody did.
And yet when they go to Las Vegas or Dubai...

You know... they really want to do the same thing here.

Or London, or Marbella, or (back in the day) Beirut. You didn’t want to be in between a Saudi and the drinks cart when the stewardess pushed it down the aisle of that BA 747.
I was in London in 1975 and I saw this up close... animals... pure animals.

One is suppressing Freedom the other celebrates it. If they took their cross and put it in front of your TV or put a cross in the middle of a turn lane at a strip club... you might have a point.
LLS
How exactly does a huge white painted cross strategically placed near a public highway such that motorists virtually must view it (and it is a distraction to be sure while driving) "celebrating freedom"????
As I said....religious zealotry has caused wars...and continues to do so.
Those crosses are on private property... the government will not allow it on public property... since the owner of the cross and the property are expressing their rights by representing the sacrifice of Christ for man... it is celebrating Freedom of speech. This is so simple... no wonder America is screwed.

Wars have been started for less.
Oh boy....and your screen name is Logic n' Reason????????????????
Try studying both religions and then the constitution....maybe even figure out on what religion the principles of your freedoms come from. One of those religions is based on slavery and force and the other on your choice and will. Maybe even figure out one is breaking laws with their expression of faith and the other harms none or forces their will on none....do not look at the cross...you do not have a choice about the bathing suit now do you.
On so many levels there are no logic or reason in your statement.
Every society has a foundation of religion, yes, atheism is a religion. I will take a country founded on protestant Christianity any day before I live in a country that has as it's base atheism (communist countries) or islam (dictator led slave societies)...no I like freedom.
You saw a mighty fine line!! First, the put-er up-er of the .... er .... "symbol" manages somehow to select a spot highly visible from a public, high speed roadway....instead of any other part of the private property where only the owner could see and "enjoy" it.
Second...the "sacrifice of Christ for man" is a belief. Very much in the same vein as the "covering" with black paint of an image a religious zealot finds offensive.
Suppose it all depends on one's point of view. The problem is...the religious zealots accept only their point of view.
Religious zealotry starts wars...even today!
And so the arguement begins with a personal attack against the only personal thing you know, and this is my screen name....

Mmmm...hmmmm. You might want to attempt to make your point in N. Ireland, the US South in the 60s, or any number of other climes and locations.
On so many levels there are no logic or reason in your statement."There are none so blind as those that refuse to see (religious zealots).

Good for you...tho I fail to see what this last statement has to do with the point that religious zealotry causes wars...
Ah well....you have a peachy freedom-filled day.
