If Robert Gates had any honor, he would have resigned last Tuesday, then immediately held a press conference, and told the American public that he strongly opposed the administration's making operational details of the raid public. He would have had a much bigger audience, and what he said would have had far more impact. Frankly, he took the coward's way out while keeping his cushy job. Plus his admission comes after his 60 Minutes appearance when he called Obama "gutsy." That's what sticks in the public mind, not his wimpy admission (complete with nervous laughter) about the broken deal to keep operational details classified.

I thought the same thing about Robert Gates. How can he look those guys in the eye and try to make excuses. Disgusting, as with everything else in the Obama administration.
