Republican Mitt Romney outlined a national health care plan Thursday that would empower states to decide coverage rules, spelling out differences with President Barack Obama's overhaul but refusing to renounce his own Massachusetts law that was a precursor to Obama's.
The all-but-declared 2012 presidential candidate said that backing away from the plan he signed as Massachusetts governor or changing his overall health care vision would be politically expedient given that health care has become a liability rather than an asset for him among conservative critics in the past two years.
But he declared, "I am not adjusting the plan to reflect the political sentiment."
The former Massachusetts governor tried to address a huge vulnerability in an appearance in Michigan, as well as counter the notion that he bends his positions to suit the current political environment. He was lambasted during his first White House run for reversing his positions on abortion and gay rights for what critics called political reasons. The health plan he described Thursday was the same one he proposed during his presidential run

That’s is GREAT......He will not even win primaries with that stance. Another IDIOT RINO.......in da house
1. OBAMACARE = ROMNEYCARE: RomneyCare is the signature government-run health care with a dismal track record of bad service and high cost. In May 2009, Romney cited his health care program as one of his best ideas. RomneyCare forced health care decisions on the taxpayers of Massachusetts. The RomneyCare health care plan formed the basis for Obamas Socialist ObamaCare health care reform.
2. TAXES: As the Governor of Massachusetts, Romeny raised fees (taxes) by nearly $730 million. In fact, at a 2008 presidential debate, Mitt said that its appropriate for governments to charge fees and provide services. And, in 2007, at a campaign event in Iowa, Romney called flat taxes unfair. Flat taxes unfair? Only a socialist would say that some should pay more than others to even the playing field.
3. SOCIALIST ECONOMIC STIMULUS & FINANCIAL SERVICES BAILOUT: In January 2009, while Obama, Pelosi, and Reid were offering the now infamous Porkulus Maximus, Romney offered a smaller $250 million stimulus proposal. Mitt, government intervention in the economy is contradictory to conservative principles. Conservatives favor small, limited, Constitutional government. In September 2008, Romney told Michigan residents at an event there that the financial services bailout was absolutely necessary.
4. CLIMATE CHANGE: In 2008, Romney told CNNs Wolf Blitzer that theres nothing wrong with dealing with global warming. Of course, its okay with you as long as its done on a global scale. In 2004, as Governor of Massachusetts, Romney introduced the Massachusetts Climate Protection Plan, a package of policies that acknowledged the existence of anthropogenic global warming. Second law of socialism, group people together with fear and socialistic solutions.
5. SECOND AMENDMENT: In 1994, Mitt favored strong gun control laws. First rule of socialism, disarm the general populous.
6. RIGHT TO LIFE: In 2002, during Romneys campaign for Governor of Massachusetts, he pledged to preserve and protect a womans right to choose (abortion). Now, he claims to be staunchly pro-life. Flip-floppers have no conviction, pro-abortionists are socialists committing genocide on the black community. [Source: abortion being used as black genocide according to BlackGenocide.org]
7. GOVERNMENT REGULATION: In April 2009, Romney told The Hill newspaper that: We as Republicans misspeak when we say we dont like regulation. We like modern, up-to-date dynamic regulation that is regularly reviewed, streamlined, modernized and effective. No conservatives dont like regulation of any kind, but socialists do.

I really think he should join the dummycrat party . . . everything about him is lefty . . . not a shred of conservatism . . . what the hell's the matter with him calling himself a republican. That's why we have a weak party . . . RINOs at the top and Tea Party at the bottom. Our leadership stinks, and with this loser at the possible top, we're doomed to failure.
I agree with Rush that a 3rd party (Tea Party) would guarantee Obozo's reelection. Why can't these wet dishrag republicans just go away and leave us alone. Put a "D" after your name, Mitt, and go away.
Tell Romney to save his money — don’t waste it in the primaries. Give it to Massachusetts to pay for his socialized medical plan. He never mentions that the feds pay for half of it (dirty little secret) -— he is a fool and a liberal.
Go fishing Mitt — forget the primaries. Conservatives only!!
GO AWAY WILLARD!
And stay away.
I dont think this is gonna fly.... Obamacare is either constitutional or its not
Romneycare either worked or it didnt
Unless Romney comes out and honestly admits that Romneycare was the biggest political mistake he ever made in his life, Romney will not be the nominee.
He won’t even win many primaries without a better explanation of Romneycare.
Unless he does, Romney is doomed as a potential candidate even before he begins.
ROTFLMAO!!!!
He aint got a chance. Let him run and throw his money away.
Geezus, Romney!
Anyone who told to be yourself couldn’t have given you worse advice.
Stick a fork in him, he’s done
Good Bye Mitt.
Good. Now the conservatives don’t have to blowup his campaign. He’s doing it for us!
Mr McRomney is toast.
No way for Dumbo or RomDumbo!!!
Big mistake.
And it would have been so easy to own up to the failures of Romneycare and chalk the whole thing up to a single state’s experiment that the rest of the country could benefit from. As it is, Obama is cheering Romney on .... as I’m sure the lefty media will do in time.
