Flavor and smell are the senses most closely associated with memory. That young woman is tasting memories of her youth in Rialto California and good times and good burgers gone-by.

America is not doomed so long as there are companies like In N Out able to grow up from nothing and thrive and prosper among the giant franchise garbage - providing better food at a better price with better employment conditions.

Nicely stated, but you also made me laugh with the "good burgers gone-by" comment. Burgers don't exactly evoke misty, water-colored memories but the life events surrounding the enjoyment of biting into a good meal may do just that. ;-)
