U.S. Ready To Support Fukushima Effort 'For Years': Roos

TOKYO (Nikkei)--The U.S. will spare no effort to help Japan end the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear crisis, Ambassador John Roos recently told The Nikkei, saying it is in the world's interest "to put the best minds to work" on the challenges that remain.

The administration of President Barack Obama "has made it clear from the very beginning that this is a multidimensional problem" that will go on for "years and even decades," Roos said in an interview this week.

"And it is the full intent (of) the United States to be of assistance to Japan in any way possible for not only the initial stage ... but months and years to come," he added.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission experts and other specialists continue to keep watch on the situation at Fukushima Daiichi from the U.S. embassy, backed by colleagues in the U.S. in an effort involving "probably hundreds of experts," according to the ambassador.

>> The U.S. will spare no effort ...

Obviously a financially oriented statement. Would have been nice to see a similar layman’s statement during the initial stages of the crisis.

Take this event, the nuclear disaster in Japan, where the US has found itself supporting the containment & cleanup efforts, and transfer this model to Caribbean oil exploration which is currently being done under foreign auspices. With me so far? What happens when the next deepsea wellhead blows and it’s a Cuban well? The oil slick is going to go wherever the currents push it, no?

Is Barak and his oil-phobic administration going to sit on their hands during the cleanup? No. They’ll demand to lead the parade. So why trust in the Cuban, Chinese or Brazilian drilling safeguards in the first place?

That’s the problem with this administration. They hope from one disaster to another. They never anticipate a problem that might arise from their actions or inaction.

President Barack Obama "has made it clear from the very beginning

They love a lie and love to lie. Obama makes nothing clear. If things were clear he wouldn't be our President.

The U.S. will spare no effort to help Japan end the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear crisis,

This means we are going to pay for it. Do I smell political kick-back?

That is what we need ! Edible money !

Readily available from pension funds everywhere!

My pension has no cost of living adjustments.

Inflation will eat it bit by bit.
