TRUMP'S "DEAN SCREAM": The Donald Loses His Cool On CNBC (This is the end of his candidacy)
Business Insider ^ | 05/13/2011 | Gregory White

Posted on 05/13/2011 8:59:54 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Donald Trump was just on CNBC responding to allegations over his property dealings made by the New York Times. He blasted the paper for its report, and its reporter for refusing to appear on TV to defend his claims.

The article reports that more than 300 people are suing Trump after he removed his name from properties they purchased. Those involved in the lawsuit allege there was no disclaimer that Trump was not the developer of the properties, but rather just "rented his name" to the actual developers.

Trump ended up going on a multi-minute rant in which he insulted CNBC anchor Simon Hobbs and slammed the New York Times.

Watch the video here. It may be remembered as Trump's "Dean Scream," the on-air event that ended Howard Dean's presidential campaign in 2004.

0:10 Trump says Mr. Barber (the New York Times reporter) "didn't have the guts to go on" CNBC.

0:55 Mark Haines, CNBC, points out where the article says "my latest development" is mentioned in promotional materials. Trump rebuffs, saying the document people signed points out that he licensed his name, not that he developed the properties.

3:10 Trump says, "Hello Simon, whoever you are Simon. Simon, the market collapsed, you may not have heard about that. So thousands of buildings all over the United States had difficulties, so you probably heard about that somewhere along the line. That's what happened Simon."

4:30 Trump says he did investors "a favor."

I think I trust "The Donald" to know his business a little more than the Brit Twit on CNBC.

Anything "NBC" is in the pants of Obama...they'll do whatever it takes(even if it's made-up)to destroy anyone questioning/pressuring "The One".

This goes back to the old “if a tree falls in the forest” paradigm. Who listens to this network anyway?

A Dean moment? I don’t think so. I think he comes off just fine. I wish we had someone else in the GOP that would actually get in reporter’s faces and correct them.

This was NO Dean moment. Pretty disgusting of the media, but that is their standard MO. What the heck is the problem with the “conservatives” who are supporting the media’s contention? Pathetic.

Definitely not a dean moment. I watched the Dean Scream live and called people into the room to show them. It looked like he literally lost his mind on national tv. He was gyrating around, yelling out all the cities his shriveling campaign was still going to win, and then his mouth opened up into a creepy scream. Only a strait jacket was missing.

What NONSENSE! I listened to the entire thing. Trump was rational and thoughtful throughout, and this was in the face of being questioned by imbeciles.

He's really good.....with a forceful slegehammer like speaking style.....he's good at rhetoric.... really good....never mumbles, backs down or does the huminah huminah tongue tied weasel squeal.....very unlike your typical RINO.

obama's team will get creamed.

I thought Trump did a good job. His big insult against that NY Times was that it was losing market share and losing money. Which is true.

Classic anti-Trump rant. Love it. I think you got everything in there!

You’re dead wrong, but I love your post nonetheless.

I’ve bookmarked it!

I heard it too. The Donald was feisty and combative, extremely coherent and not taking any sh*t off Michael Izikoff, the New York Times or the New York Times reporter. Donald also ridiculed the bad deals the NYT has done buying the Boston Globe and their dumb real estate deals where they sold a building for 100 million and the buyers flipped it in a few months for 400 million (rough numbers)

Trump did great and did not scream

Reagan was an ACTOR when he did that. And endorsing a product is not whoring out your name.

Trump was :”sign on to this investment - you can trust it - it has my name! - OK they only RENTED my name - I otherwise wasn't involved at all other than accepting a paycheck to fool people into thinking I was involved”

That is not Presidential - and Trump will NEVER be President - I would be willing to be good money that he isn't even going to seek the nomination.

He, like many other hucksters frauds and charlatans - sees going through the motions of Presidential candidacy as a way to up his name recognition.

And he uses that name recognition when he whores out his name.

I’m no Trump hater, but his skeletons are too many to be able to run a campaign.

I don't think you realize what we're up against......skeletons will mean nothing in the up coming campaign.....they will be invented if none are found.....we need someone who can out thug the thug.....some one without fear and has balls.....e.g. trump.

It’s a great listen, Donald taking it to his critics, and hard. This is how winners talk.

I kept listening for the promised ‘Dean Scream’. Where was it? A different clip maybe? Does anyone have a link to ‘The Scream’? Yeah, ........ I didn’t think there was one.

I hope he runs, it’s going to clean a whole lot of Sh-t out of a whole lot of pipes.

That's exactly what it is. Reagan wasn't playing a part when he endorsed the product, he was getting paid to get people to buy a product because he, Reagan, endorsed it. I'm not against doing this, but I also don't see a lot of difference what Reagan did, using his name to sell cigarettes or Trump using his name to get people to buy real estate.

I do commercial real estate in Vegas. Every day I drive by the bloated whale called Trump towers. I know his kind of people, he is my kind of people. That’s why I know he is political carrion waiting to be picked over by the buzzards.
