WASHINGTON (AP) -- A computer glitch corrupted the State Department's annual worldwide lottery for U.S. immigrant visas and the results will be scratched, the Obama administration said Friday, disappointing tens of thousands of would-be immigrants who were notified this year that they had won a chance to come and live legally in the United States.
Nearly 15 million people had entered the 2012 lottery hoping to win one of 50,000 U.S. immigrant visas available under a wild-card program for people who otherwise would have little hope of getting a coveted U.S. visa.

With this news, at the very least, 50,000 U.S. unemployed workers should be celebrating.

Since we cannot or will not control our borders against the illegals, we should not be opening the front door for 50,000 additional job seekers and SS recipients annually either.
It is time to end ALL immigration, we can produce our own citizens.
I’ve traveled a bit, and I have seen the foreign Gov. Org. supported “Marriage Bureau’s” designed to export their women to the U.S. so that the elderly relatives can follow easily.
Funds sent back home to remaining relatives account for a major revenue stream for those countries, but no benefit or product goes to the U.S.
The entire quota for decades has been used up by illegals, it is time to give ourselves breathing space to find and deport them all.
No “Amnesty”, no more illegals, no more “Immigration”.
Time for these people to clean up their own countries messes instead of taking the easy way out and running off to America.

It’s funny there is a guy here in Houston that has a very mestizo appearance he started fighting illegal immigration about a decade ago then left the group to fight with a more HARDCORE stance called TEXANS FOR ZERO IMMIGRATION.
When I was stationed in Havana 93-97, I spent a lot of time on the street jogging or walking. My neighbors knew that I was a “diplomat” and were constantly hounding me to take their lottery applications in to the Section, in hopes that they would have a leg up. I took a few in and put them in the basket, but none of them ever won. They were - and I suppose still are - desparate to get out of there and up here.
Obama will correct this before the next election
Not really strange at all, he may have realized where open borders/massive immigration leads.
I have friends and a sister in law who immigrated in the legal manner, they despise illegals more than anyone.
The sister in law has proven that once one member of a family makes it to the U.S., all their relatives may soon follow.
The elderly parents collect SS without ever having paid in.
