Bumping my friend, Mr. Mojo, again :0)

And bartering or bargaining, or whatever you call it, is never a bad thing in my book! Especially in these times...

Ah, Adam Sandler was wrong; Carew never converted. But when you have the alltime RBI champion (Greenberg) and one of the greatest pitchers of all time (Koufax), the point is made.

Strange thing about baseball: All the Catholic sluggers. Especially the black ones. Carew isn’t a slugger, but Reggie Jackson, Hank Aaron, Sammy Sosa, Ken Griffey Jr, Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, Frank Robinson, Manny Ramirez, Willie Stargell and many more are all Catholic. (Try to find a black slugger who *isn’t* Catholic. Is there something about baseball appealing to Catholics, over say, football or basketball? It’s not like Jesuit schools have never tried to have a basketball program.

No great meaning... just many people even forget that there ARE black Catholics. (Not just sports, but politics and government, too: Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes, Michael Steele, etc.)

(Besides, the target of that joke was the A’s, not Jews.)

LOL!

Remember Charlie O. Finley, the owner of the A's back when they were three time world champs? He knew how to wheel and deal. Those were the days.
