They should drill it to relieve the pressure!

It was the Cayahoga River that caught fire. I grew up on Lake Erie, and spent most days in the summer on sandy beaches. The swimming was, and is great. Fish kills occur. I just hope the latest one isn’t from a really bad cause.

Oh man! You are there!
(And I also love their fried oysters, which do NOT come from Lake Erie, as far as I can tell...)

My guess is as good as any of those professors that study the stuff and get paid. <<

I hear ya...The Maine stock and catch bureaucracy has killed all the ponds and lake up here...The only native fish left is where the locals secretly clean out a stream where the natives can spawn again...

Tabasco would be cool, or any Louisiana hot sauce. I sort of like tarter sauce. I dip ‘em in skim milk, dredge ‘em in corn meal, fry ‘em, and eat like a dozen of ‘em!

I grew up near Detroit and always got a lot of smelt from my dipping friends!

I know they are popular with the Italian folks I was raised around in Ohio.

Right. I’m not Italian, but all my Italian friends love seafood. In fact, I’m pretty sure all my friends love seafood... except one.

Yellow perch are much better eating, IMHO. Just add one egg, beer and a cup of Bisquik and a deep fryer at 350. But why are all those walleyes dying? VHS? That would affect other fish.

“I hope Lake Erie is not going back to the days of old when it caught on fire...”

Better develop a taste for poverty, then.

Back when the river did catch fire, there was a thriving steel industry in Ohio. Now you have a cleaner river and lake, instead.

So how’s bait sales doin’ for Ya’all?

Are they sure they’re Walleye? Could be this new hybrid they’ve been working on.

10 years ago, the University of Michigan conducted an experiment involving the crossing of the Coho Salmon (for its delicious, tender flesh), the Walleye Pike (for it’s fighting spirit and aggressiveness) with the Muskellunge or Muskie (for its incredible size).

10 years later, they’re still working on a serious problem with the new hybrid: They can’t seem to teach the stupid son-of-a-bitch – named the Cowalski – how to SWIM.
