The Arab peoples long for freedom. However, the ideology and culture of islam is so deeply entrenched in these countries that real freedom is simply impossible as long as islam remains dominant.
I served in the military for many years, and I still have many friends there - some of very high rank.
We have corresponded about our failures in what was previously known as the "War on Terror." Our first mistake was not identifying properly what we were fighting against. "Terror" is a tactic. We were fighting a war against Islam.
Our second mistake was believing we could win "hearts and minds" of Muslims by pouring Billions and Billions of American treasure into roads, schools, and building for Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, while our Government made the very conscious decision to absolutely shut out the God of Abraham and Issac from the equation of "winning hearts and minds."
Only God can ultimately change hearts and minds. We played god, we shut out the true God's voice, and we will lose because of that.

Per Geert Wilders other point, that pluralism and multiculturalism are tools of evil, these words greatly reminded me of the prophetic words of Ravi Zacharias who spoke of the dangers of pluralization many years ago.
