PLEASANT HILL -- The former commander of a law enforcement task force in Contra Costa County robbed prostitutes whose operations were competing with his own brothel in Pleasant Hill, his co-defendant in a drug theft case told investigators.
The former commander, ex-state Department of Justice agent Norman Wielsch, said prostitutes and drug dealers deserved to have their money stolen, said Christopher Butler, a private eye in Concord and Wielsch's former colleague on the Antioch police force.
In a 34-page narrative that he wrote for investigators detailing his alleged criminal exploits and obtained by The Chronicle, Butler also said a woman accused of prostitution had told him that she had sex with Wielsch in exchange for having charges against her reduced.
In 2009, at Wielsch's suggestion, the woman helped the task force commander and private eye set up a massage parlor on Gregory Lane in Pleasant Hill that fronted for a brothel, Butler said.
Wielsch, 50, and Butler, 49, were charged in February with stealing drugs from evidence lockers in Contra Costa and selling them. Separately, Butler has been charged with arranging the false drunken-driving arrests of men who were targets of his investigations firm. Wielsch and Butler have pleaded not guilty.

Doing the job low ranking cops wont do.
It’s weird how perception of the “bravest” is changing, from pensions to the blue wall of silence to SWAT. Maybe the rappers knew them better? Not all of them are bad of course. And it turns out that being a cop is a pretty safe job too, especially when compared to many other jobs.

I think half their pensions should be diverted to people that do tree work and taxi drivers..
If true hang him, throw his family out onto the street and confiscate everything they own.
Why his family? Are they guilty of his sins?
As an example to others not to go down that path. His family benefited from his misdeeds(if he has one). Our society will not survive if we can not trust L.E. and that is more and more the case these days.
They were doing something else there, also:
Say a woman wants a divorce from a good guy but with custody and plenty of money in a settlement —her attourney would hire a PI to hire local models or dancers to “spontaneously approach” men online. Then they’d feign keen interest, exchange photos, then meet him at a bar. Then she’d encourage him to drink, then peer “bedroomy eyes” and ask to “go back to my place”....
They drive off together right? But the COPS are waiting for him as driver, and he’s arrested for DUI. Then this good guy who otherwise would have gotten shared custody has a felony (to say nothing of cheating) and the wifey then gets everything.
This all came out.
The cops were getting their cut, too. The lawyer gets paid, the PI gets paid, the dancer gets paid, and the COPS get paid.
Nice, huh.....? This was in that same area about a month ago.
TO SERVE AND PROTECT...?
Despicable lot.
I wonder if he has children.
If so, what a legacy he’s left them.
Because they will do it to YOUR family in a heartbeat!
Bitches in Blue strike again.
Looking at the crumbling of our American police’s ethics, I would say we have arrived to multiculturalism’s thrid world.
We will be Mexico with the cartels and corruption if we don’t get the police out from being trained and controlled by the Federal government as a para-military organization occupying our country. They are taught we are all potential domestic terrorists - not citizens. They are trained to be our military controllers, not our loyal and constitutional equals or fellow citizens. The war on terror has turned into a cultural cleansing of American community police culture, ideals and ethics.
Preying on criminals is fun, till it turns you into a criminal then if you’re lucky the system gets you and if your not then more likely one your “buddies” will eventually screw you over.
