Walt Disney was a very talented and gifted businessman with no notable liberal or leftist tendencies. The depictions of him that I have read makes him come across as patriotic. He was more than a bit unusual - I think he filmed presentations to his board of directors to be screened years after he passe away, to keep the Disney empire expanding on track with his timetable and vision), for example.
His politics and attitude were not a secret. In ‘Iron Man 2’ a year or so ago, the character of Howard Stark (Tony Stark/Iron Man’s father) is clearly patterned after Walt Disney, with his ‘Stark Expo’ worlds fair type event and park, as well as filmed presentations, clearly evoking Disney (both in look and manner).
Howard Stark, in that fictional work, was a very patriotic American, working with the military to develop new weapons, for example, and as shall be seen in the upcoming film ‘Captain America,’ was working on WW2’s ‘super soldier’ program as well as a founding member of the secret troubleshooting organization in the Marvel universe, ‘SHIELD.’
Walt Disney wasn’t a leftist at all. Unusual at times, yes. Leftist? Not much evidence for that.
You are correct and I was wrong. I've already done my mea culpa. Read on down and findit if you need it to placate your indignity.
