As gay rights advocates intensify their campaign to legalize same-sex marriage in New York, the bulk of their money is coming from an unexpected source: a group of conservative financiers and wealthy donors to the Republican Party, most of whom are known for bankrolling right-leaning candidates and causes.
Their behind-the-scenes financial support about $1 million in donations, delivered in recent weeks to a new coalition of gay rights organizations could alter the political calculus of Albany lawmakers, especially the Republican state senators in whose hands the fate of gay marriage rests.
The donors represent some of New Yorks wealthiest and most politically active figures and include Paul E. Singer, a hedge fund manager and top-tier Republican donor, as well as two other financiers, Steven A. Cohen and Clifford S. Asness.
At the same time, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, a billionaire businessman and philanthropist who has been a major contributor to Senate Republicans in New York, plans a significant push for same-sex marriage: giving at least $100,000 of his own money, hosting a fund-raiser at an Upper East Side town house, traveling to Albany to lobby lawmakers and giving a speech on the issue.
The new donations represent roughly two-thirds of the same-sex marriage coalitions fund-raising, making New York the rare state where a lobbying campaign in favor of legalizing gay unions is not being financed primarily by liberal donors and Democrats. The support is likely to jolt the traditional financial and political backers of gay rights causes, who now find themselves in the unfamiliar position of being outraised and outspent in New York.

Probably a pretty good way to divide and conquer. I say let’s keep their money and do something good with it.
first off if they need to use the NY Slimes as a sounding board, they are Dhimmicrats (or RINOs...pretty much the same thing...Rockefeller RINOs to be exact.)
and Bloomberg is many things...an elitist, a baby killer, an anti-gun buttwipe....and I could go on and on...
But he is NOT a Republican.
Bloomberg switched parties, from being originally Democrat to being Republican and most recently to Independent.
Vote out the RINOs who take this money.
This is why I send money to candidates...not to the party...

Here in WI, homo marriage is banned and it's in our state Constitution which was upheld.
Now the buttbandits are claiming that legalizing the marriage of two perverts will make the state more economically viable? I’d like to see the math on that.
You see now where the political elite’s priorities are. None of them could give a tinkers damn about the unemployed or the economy as long as they can continue the party and remain on the right dinner guest lists.
Isn’t it great, living in an effete, bipartisan plutocracy? And they want to reduce the population to the number of people in the world during the Renaissance. We’d have never guessed.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that New York Republicans have been at the forefront of so many leftist causes that have been co-opted by modern Democrats (legalized abortion, for example).
First, when the whole weird gay agenda began, there were people who were strongly opposed to it, but many more people were easily dissuaded by the Hollywood propaganda machine. Usually, the younger people were, the more gullible to the gay agenda propaganda. Even when same sex marriage began to become national news, there were weak minded people who bought into the gay excuses. You could hear it because first the gay propagandists would say that gay marriage would not affect man/woman marriage. Then you began to hear the simple minded repeat that same talking point. Even on talk radio shows, here in Massachusetts, you would hear quite a few people call in and say that they didn't see how gay marriage could harm anyone. I think that many of those dolts are now having second thoughts about the gay agenda. I think now they are maybe starting to understand that there really is a “gay agenda”, something which these clueless people would have denied in the past. Now they are starting to get the sense that things are starting to get out of control. People have enough sense to understand that the defense of our country is the most important thing and it is something not to be tampered with.
I believe this is the turning point. The degenerates are getting in our faces. They just can't help themselves. They are feeling empowered because they have Obama to give them everything they want. Now is the “shock and awe” which will either make us or break us. Please God, I think it will make us.

It’s not so much a thought process as coming to realize that it just seems impossible to find an end to what is demanded. Okay, power of attorney check, wills which can designate inheritance to practically anyone.check, being able to visit my friend or girlfriend in the hospital while signing in. check. The real issue, I feel is that your average Joe or Jane cares that certain acts can be kept to the privacy of one’s own home, which they have and can do. Legally, they’re pretty much fine, but guaranteeing that everyone wishes to believe what you do about your marriage, that’s just absurd and unneccessary. So long as you legally work things out, that’s what really counts. Let’s take it this way, Mormons think that their marriages go “forever” I don’t believe it, much less care. But I don’t see some Mormon Family knocking on my door asking me, “Will you acknowledge that our marriage goes on after death?” Or some Mormon mob rushing into my church with pictures of what they do in their private time. This has happened with another genuine political agenda, which explains why some people feel so alienated
