Charles Barkley: In sports, ability to play should outweigh sexual orientation
Washington Post ^ | May 17, 2011 | Mike Wise

Posted on 05/17/2011 10:33:21 AM PDT by ConservativeStatement

Charles Barkley is sick and tired of hearing how the sanctuary of the locker room is not ready for a male athlete in a major team sport to come out to his teammates, how awkward everyone would feel after they heard a teammates say, “I’m gay.”

After all, Barkley has no doubt he played with several gay teammates.

Barkley is right, he’s NOT a role model for our kids.

Does anybody really care what an idiot like Charles Barkley has to say about anything?

Could have shortened the article to "Charles Barkley is sick and tired..."

I don’t have a problem with what Barkley says here. If I own or coach a team, I want the best players, regardless of sexual orientation, race, etc.

Uh, wasn`t Barkley the one who got arrested for drunk driving while in a hurry to get a blow job from some street whore ?

Why is this fat pig puke even on TV anymore and why is he moralizing to ANYONE !?

I interpreted part of his comments to be critical of those who bash heterosexuals.

“I really like ESPN,” Barkley added. “They do a great job. But like once every two or three months, they bring all these people on there, and they tell me how me and my team are going to respond to a gay guy.

“First of all, every player has played with gay guys. It bothers me when I hear these reporters and jocks get on TV and say, ‘Oh, no guy can come out in a team sport. These guys would go crazy.’ First of all, quit telling me what I think. I’d rather have a gay guy who can play than a straight guy who can’t play.”

I hear what your saying, but players are regularly traded/cut because they are locker room “problems”. I’m not refering here to sexual orientation. Think Terrell Owens.

If a group of “straights” were to make an issue of it, which way to you think it would go? Personally, I don’t know. We are in an era where a star basketball player can get a coach fired or get his free-agent buddies on his team. Then again, we are also in an era where the commissioner of the NFL will fine/suspend a player for a homophobic epithet yelled in the heat of battle.

“all the girls will be delirious with desire? Not so, my friends.”

Comparing the sexual desires of women to those of men is apples and oranges. Are gay males less visually oriented than straight males?

Well, Charles, since you observed that you did have gay teammates, it is obvious that the ability to play DID outweigh sexual orientation.

Logic is your friend!

So perversion is alright with you then. Pathetic.

If any of the major sports leagues start accepting perversion then they lose my support.

So your point is that only beautiful people should be concerned about modesty?

Homely people aren’t entitled to a measure of privacy since nobody really cares anyway?

I seem to remember his support of homosexuality as well in many previous posts. It figures that he claims to have worked in a gay bar.

Whatever. I’m tired of people acting like professional basketball is important. Perhaps it does add to the sales of silly clothes, jewelry and tatoos. Beyond that, the salutary effects head toward zero in a hurry.

The goal is to allow the deviants, full, unhindered, access to the object of their sick obsession.

Including our children.

LOL!!! If an AVERAGE looking woman's towel came off, thus exposing her naked body on the beach, all the straight guys would get a thrill.

Do you think male homosexuals have the same visual stimuli and sex drives as most females?

Where have I been supportive of homosexuality?
