But most of those old-fashioned democrats voted like republicans while they were still democrats and continued to vote like republicans after they became republicans. Perry has yet to make that switch to consistently taking the republican position on the important issues.
When you find the *perfect candidate* I hope you will let me know, because I haven’t been able to spot one yet and I have been looking for a long time. Even Reagan wasn’t perfect enough for some conservatives.
