He didn’t exclude them; he said “people who take life” in reference to abortion.
I would like to him say he would put the woman into jail as well as the abortionists.
I’ll always remember Coburn and his comments because 2004 was the year Bush’s “theft” of the 2000 election was supposed to be avenged, but instead the results were disastrous for the left. Besides Bush winning re-election (more handily than in 2000), the Republican Senate victors included Tom Coburn (who publicly equated abortion with murder), Jim Demint (who publicly stated that openly gay people, as well as unwed parents, shouldn’t be allowed to teach in public school), and Jim Bunning (who publicly stated that his Italian-American opponent looked like one of Saddam Hussein’s sons). It was a great night for the Republican Party, and was the same night Obama won his Senate seat. As a FReeper astutely observed here early that night, the amount of air time dedicated to Obama’s victory (which was a foregone conclusion) was inversely proportionate to the amount of good news for the Dems (before results were publicized) - it was a good omen that they had been trounced, and the media already knew it early on.
