Talking about how early on in Rush’s talk radio stuff, Newt was a Conservative Beacon, holding speaking sessions discussing policy, defending Reagan and taking Tip O’Neil to task. Rush just HAD to speak with him and did. Now he is conflicted because he is not sure what has happened to Newt.
I'm not, either. Did Newt sell out for votes? Were his principles in fact not strong enough to resist his desire to be approved of by the MSM and Democrats? Did he think he had to abandon principle to make himself electable after the MSM and Democrat character-assassination campaign waged against him in 1996? I don't know.
