Senator questions benefits to (30 Yr. Old ‘adult baby’ Coburn sees possible fraud

A key senator has asked the Social Security Administration to investigate how people who live their lives role-playing as “adult babies” are able to get taxpayer-funded disability payments — after one of them was featured on a recent reality TV episode wearing diapers, feeding from a bottle and using an adult-sized crib he built.

Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican and the Senate’s top waste-watcher, asked the agency’s inspector general to look into 30-year-old Stanley Thornton Jr. and his roommate, Sandra Dias, who acts as his “mother,” saying it’s not clear why they are collecting Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits instead of working.

“Given that Mr. Thornton is able to determine what is appropriate attire and actions in public, drive himself to complete errands, design and custom-make baby furniture to support a 350-pound adult and run an Internet support group, it is possible that he has been improperly collecting disability benefits for a period of time,” Mr. Coburn wrote in a letter Monday to Inspector General Patrick P. O'Carroll Jr.

The request comes at a time when members of Congress are struggling to cut budgets and weed out waste to try to bring down the staggering deficit, and comes just days after Social Security’s trustees released a grim assessment of the program’s long-term financial healt

I think that as part of the action to raise the debt ceiling, that they ought to review all SSI awards. I think you would find that at least 50% were not warranted. I think they would discover also that their Medicare, food stamp, subsudized housing, etc. costs would go down as they qualify for these based upon the SSI award.

“Take him off the “check”, provide him with gainful employment, based on pay for performance”

I wouldn’t hire him.
Nor would any sane business owner in the USA.

It looks like his only options are to seek serious medical assistance, or to illegally migrate to one of the Islamic nations, or Canada.
Canada would probably let him in.

This guy's the tip of the iceberg...

When Dems ask Americans to work until they're 95 to 'save Social Security' remember it's so 30 year olds like this man can collect a check for the next 50 years - and his girlfriend too...

I suspect he would do just fine if his check was cut... do you want to support the ‘whips and chains’ crowd too? Then again, maybe you can give some examples of people in the last depression starving to death because they couldn’t role play baby and mommy... maybe I’ve missed them.

“Adult baby” describes pretty much everyone on the dole. Never matured, no personal responsibility, think the world owes them a living. Bawl and scream when things don’t go their way.

Mr. Coburn also questions why Miss Dias, as a former nurse, collects SSI benefits, “since she is able to provide childcare” to Mr. Thornton.

Being this woman likes to play his mother, she should go to work and support him.

As an individual who remotely works in this industry, I can assure you that the "Invesigator General" actually investigates very few cases, and the ones that are actually investigated, the work is extremely shoddy.

The majority of those receiving SSI checks are not disabled per se--but merely unemployable for various reasons. SSI is particularly popular for ex-cons..The agency adjudicators see the $674 a month check a cost savings when compared to incarceration costs. More troubling, is that employers are less and less hiring these people because its much easier/safer to hire an illegal than to employ a man who is on parole for armed robbery ect.

Two years ago, I looked online for adult diapers for my father-in-law, who is elderly with Alzheimers, and was shocked to discover that there are a whole bunch of people out there who wear diapers for fun. In reading product reviews, I found that there were customers who actually wanted adult diapers to be as puffy and noisy and obvious as possible. Talk about creepy!

“The parasites are threatening to revolt.....”

Well, if what he said is the best threat that he can muster, I’d say, “bring it on”. Seems like this is a problem that can solve itself.

I stopped watching AI when they decided to send 15 year old contestants to Sin City with pedo Steven Tyler.

You should really watch. It is excellent this year. Many thought this show was doomed this year but it went the opposite way and revitalized itself. Don’t know anything about Steven Tyler except he was married for 18 years (divorced after but still surprised me). Anyway, he has been through a lot and I am so glad to see he has his life on the right track. The pedo comment I have never heard that he had sex with underage girls.

he does wear adult clothes when he goes out, fearing embarrassment otherwise.

Ya, funny how that works.

Seems to me that wearing adult clothes and going out in public would prove his “disability” is a sham, even to government investigators.
