No, Emmer lost to Dayton (barely.) Earlier replies made sense; a third party candidate was the spoiler.

Great news, Wisconsin Freepers! Hope it becomes law soon!

Music to my ears.

Why didn’t the CSer Dems just leave the state again?

That "quirky" quorum rule only applies to revenue bills, voter ID has no fiscal component. If the demo senators booked the vote could have been taken without the 50 odd annoying amendments and it still would have passed.

GtG

The Senate did pass it and Walker will sign it.

BUT, I received notice this AM that the GAB (Gov. Accountability Board — formerly the election commission) is instituting on line registration for voters, although they will have the show a photo ID and show up in person to complete the process. As far as I know, this was not discussed in the legislature, and I suspect that it is just another opening for fraud.

THe GAB is NOT our friend, and Walker should clean out that den of pestilence.

Agree with all you say, PLUS resurrect our old ballot boxes that were steel and had locks for transporting ballots to city hall, or to the county. These plastic bags they provide are difficult to secure.

Unfortunately not. The voter ID law will not go into effect until 2012. We have recall elections in 2011.
